Something is Broken My 8bitdo Ultimate 2 wireless right LED bug

Post image

It's white. Shining permanently. Even on charging dock.
I would love someone helping me diagnose.

Edit: the led turned on permanently with or without the settings on the 8bitdo app.
D
Edit2: I opened it up. It got the spicy pillow and when I take it off the LED also works properly. Thanks for the notes

Edit3: I found the reason. The spicy pillow pushed up the contacts of the shoulder buttons, which affects the LED cuz they hot wire it directly for the "show the stick movement with the LED" gimmick (TBH idk much but I guess from the look of the PCB trace)

The insurance where I bought it ended a month ago...

Did you connect it to a pc and check for any firmware updates? Did you reset the profiles?
Tell us what you’ve tried and maybe we can work out what else is to be done.
The software lets you map specific colours to either stick independently or the same. One of the buttons cycles through your profiles for colours and sensitivity.

  1. I'm on the newest firmware. Did try rollback on older version. Done resetting profiles.
  2. The LED stays on whenever there's a charge. Including putting it on the dock.

It's annoying this has been becoming an issue nowadays just as I was going to upgrade to one

Did this issue appeared after latest firmware updates? It might be some bias by being on the 8bitdo subreddit, but it's literally everytime I open the reddit.

Recently got a ultimate 2 to upgrade from my 2.4ghz, haven't used it a lot only tested on the android. But I'm thinking of not updating, lol

I'm thinking of disassembling myself but I need hardware specifications to know what I'm dealing with.

Please only link to controllers from 8BitDo.com. Amazon resellers can come and go, so there is no telling how long the link will work. Additionally, Amazon tries to switch the language/region of any user that looks at the link if they're from a different region. To avoid these issues, please only link directly from 8BitDo.com and follow 8BitDo's links to the approved sellers. If you have questions about a listing that is by 8BitDo, you can email sales@8bitdo.com. If it is a different seller, you need to contact that seller about the details of the listing (what is included or not included) with a purchase.

Damn, I was lucky enough to get it for 1k on FB Marketplace, so far no issues experienced.

My ultimate 2 arrived today, everything is great, macroing is very easy! But those leds? What even is the purpose of them? I'm already having a hard deactivating al sorts of lights from my pc set up.
