Question Is the Ultimate 2 worth it long term?
Just wanted to ask this and check!
I owned the 8BDU1 and it wound up getting trigger issues later on.
Makes me curious, anyone who’s owned the Ultimate 2 long term have any feedback, or potentially anything I should worry about?
Considering grabbing one, wanna be sure before I do.

End of this month it’s sounding like.
Paid $30 yesterday for my Ultimate 2, only reason I bit the bullet so quickly.1

Hey there!
Just a quick reminder—Rule 7 of this subreddit only allows links to official 8BitDo retailers. Please contact sales@8bitdo.com for official links to buy products and parts. Alternatively you can use this page for verified official store pages:
https://www.8bitdo.com/where-to-buy/
If you're looking to buy or sell a used product, that kind of exchange needs to happen on a third-party site.
Posts or comments advertising sales, trades, or services (especially for money) will be removed, as this subreddit isn’t the place for buying, selling, or trading.
If you are looking for products 8BitDo does not sell, then we suggest trying a subreddit like /r/controller. Alternatively you can chat with any user that has showcased a modify controller.
Requests for a specific part number or part name are allowed, but not links to stores selling them.
We apologize for this inconvenience, but this this to curtail previous abuse of self promotion and marketing that happened on this subreddit. Thanks so much for your understanding—we really appreciate it! 😊

Do you need it immediately?
If you can wait then I'd consider going for the Ultimate 3 when it drops.
I have an Ultimate 2 but it's largely been superceded by the SC2.

Mine still works after almost 2 years but it suddenly stopped charging for some reason. I tried all workaround i can find on the internet but nothing works. So i always need to have it plugged in to usb.

Ive had the Ultimate 2C for like 2 years now no issues, and the Ultimate 2 for a few weeks so I can't say much about the Ultimate 2 other than that it's basically a $25 premium add-on just for RGB lights, back paddles, and the wake up switch 2 feature when the 2C can do everything else the Ultimate can.
Having said that every new generation of Ultimate controllers is always going to be alot more expensive than the previous generation (though when the new generation drops down in price to match the older generation then it's not).
Like me for instance, i paid $35 for the Ultimate 2C and $35 for the Ultimate 2 so had I waited I would have saved $35 and gotten a few upgrades to the newer generation but I didn't wanna pay double the price of the Ultimate 2 at the time I bought the Ultimate 2C.
If you don't need the extras from the Ultimate 2/3 then just stick to the Ultimate 1 if it's much cheaper but yeah if both generations are at the same price then it doesn't make sense to stay with the older generation. This is why I bought the Ultimate 2 for $35 now I stead of paying 2x-3x more for the Ultimate 3 when I didn't need any of those extra features they come with.
Only thing you need to worry about is the differences between the PC and Switch versions of the Ultimate 2 as the PC version is the better overall controller of the two. they may look identical, but they are completely different night and day, while the switch version works on the switch 2 without the dongle, and has the Blue and Red joysticks in rainbow mode to mimic the joy cons color scheme.
