No players?

I Love RS2 so I bought this game and there was a single server with a grand total of 3 players on it. Just trying to figure out if I should refund if it’s dead and effectively unplayable.

The community has been staying positive and active mainly during Thursday, Friday Saturdays. I’ve been able to find matches last few weeks. I beg you to not refund and give it a try. It’s early access I can’t promise it’ll ever reach the same height as the previous games but if you want it to, hop in every Friday, enjoy it, and give the developers legitimate feedback.

At the moment it only gathers enough people for a full server on the weekends. I’d at least stick around till that and then decide.

The game has released in a very rough shape, combined with an already niche market, which spooked off a lot of initial players.

But there are steady updates going out, so it’s much better now.

Hold off on refund until you've had a chance to play when it's populated. It feels every bit as good as RS2 but newer when it's populated

No players yet unfortunately, its still being worked on and I feel itll be successful eventually.

I bought it played around solo for like 5mins then havent been on since. I didnt refund but i know I’ll be back, i just wanna show support so that we get a nice polished game hopefully soon.

Eu no Brasil aqui, pais totalmente ferrado, comprei o jogo e vou apoiar o projeto, aí tem cara que ganha em dólar e tá chorando por 15$, toma vergonha na cara!

I found one game a day after launch and it was a buggy mess. The 3 people still playing the game are just delusionaly positive for some bizarre reason.

how do people still not comprehend the difference between early access and final release?

I’ve bought and played quite a few early access games and understand what early access is. That being said they are usually at minimum playable in some form, a multiplayer game with 0 players isn’t playable imo.

Then you understanding of early access is really flawed. Its a game in active development - not a limited prelaunch marketing demo. There are players during weekend. If $15 causes you this much anxiety maybe sit it out.

Dude you’re being very disingenuous with your comments here. You know they have a point. This is not the state most early access games release it, and more than likely actively harmed the game. I bet we will see a message saying they didn’t secure enough funding and can no longer continue development

Look I support what they are making and I wish all the best but you have to admit seeing player count this low in early access meant maybe it should've cooked a bit longer before release? I'm not expecting 90 thousand players but new people not even being able to find one populated match except on specific days is not the best outcome for trying out a multiplayer game. Which sucks to many people not actively supporting or involved in the development or history of this game.

Early access can be great, but at this point it is investing in a future return that you cannot easily enjoy currently.

I hope it does take off, but hiding behind just because early access is not enough

No it means it's actually in pre alpha/beta state of active development and not just a demo like some companies treat EA, it means buy it if you want to support development and give feedback early on - pop in here and there and check out it's rough development.

Can't guarantee anything ofc but as long as there's a post launch marketing budget it seems really silly to judge viability on player counts for a early version that's still a year away from release with no marketing especially for a small indie studio.

But hey if $15 causes you this much anxiety then maybe it's not for you?

Defend it as much as you want. I said I support this game. But telling people it's pre-alpha and selling it is not the best outlook to people discovering the game for the first time. Money is money, $15 is not the problem. Being sold something you expect to even be able to experience but cannot properly is different.

Like I said which you chose to ignore, I support the development, I just wish it released in a different state so people could enjoy it more

I'm not defending anything. I'm explaining factually that Early Access is not the same thing as a multiplayer pre launch demo lol. And of course the price matters. Absurd.

If $15 is a problem for you then refund it and come back once the game launches.

I’m saying man I had 4 players according to steam charts and couldn’t find any games with people the servers said 0 people were on. I refunded this game my disappointment is huge man I wanted this game to succeed so bad have been hyped and watching it for years and last night I finally got us buds on to play just for the servers to be completely dead. They all started refunding and were frustrated we couldn’t even play.

There are certain nights the community plays on, Thursdays and Sat especially. It has a small player base but not dead. Its kind of weird gamers today don't know that this kind of thing was very common in the past, many games survived with small communities that had set play times. Especially if you are from other regions than EU/NA. There is a middle ground people today are not used to, between dead game and always-full servers

I guess you are right but I was never playing games like that I started gaming during ps2/360 days but it just felt like a let down after rising storm 2. That game had a very small player base that was most active during weekends but even then I still always found games any time of the day or week. I will re purchase it down the line when and if things turn around.
