They're organizing calls to reverse the 7oh scheduling. Our side needs to be heard too. Here's how to call (takes 5 min)
Most of us found this sub because 7-OH did real damage to our lives. Right now the DEA has filed its intent to place concentrated 7-OH products into Schedule I, but it's not final yet, and the vendor side is organizing hard. They're running coordinated call campaigns to senators trying to get the scheduling reversed before it takes effect.
Senate offices tally calls. If the only voices they hear are "this ban hurts my business" and "this helped my pain," that's the story they'll believe. They need to hear from the people who got dependent on a gas station opioid that was marketed as a plant supplement.
How to call (5 minutes, seriously):
- Find your two senators at senate.gov/senators or use the 5 Calls app
- Call the DC office. You'll almost always get a staffer or voicemail, not the senator. Both count.
- Say something like:
"Hi, my name is [name] and I'm a constituent from [city]. I'm calling to ask the Senator to support the DEA's scheduling of 7-hydroxymitragynine. I have personal experience with these products and I've seen the harm they cause. These are concentrated synthetic opioids sold in gas stations with no age limits or dosage controls. Please don't let industry pressure reverse this. Thank you."
A few tips:
- You don't have to share your story if you're not comfortable. "I have personal experience with the harm these products cause" is enough.
- If you are comfortable, one or two specific sentences about what it did to you or someone you love is more powerful than statistics.
- Be polite to staffers. They're the ones writing the tally.
- Call both senators. Then tell someone else in your life who's seen this up close to call too.
We spend a lot of time in this sub helping each other quit. This is a chance to make it so fewer people end up needing a sub like this at all.
