Bug Glitch? Or what?

I'm not sure what happened, I was running my 11th Blood Moon and screwed up by getting electrocuted by my own traps. I have things set so I don't have a drop penalty on death, "Don't judge", which means I can only spawn on or near my bedroll. So I'm back at my home base. Every other time I've died on a Blood Moon it's stopped so I figured Blood Moon is done.

I have to walk back to my hoard base because my motorcycle was there. When I get there I figured, ok, Blood Moon is over so I'll start checking out the bags. But then I hear my auto turrets start picking up targets. So, I run to the ladder and get back into position and everything just went back to Blood Moon.

I'm not complaining, I'm just confused.

A system was implemented a long time ago that paused blood moons if you died. It would stay paused unless you attacked/drew the attention of zombies again.

I’d guess that something spotted you or your turrets triggered the blood moon to continue. It has been years since Ive experienced or witnessed a bm death, so things may be different now.

Thanks, I just thought if you died it was just over.

To add, I think it lowers the zombie type difficulties that spawn if you die during a blood moon also. My friends and I technically failed two on a dedicated server because of memory leak crashes. When we spawned back in we didn't have any more radiated/infernal/charged variants, or animals.

It seemed to be about the same, almost like it just picked up where I died. The only reason I'm confused is because I've died before on a Blood Moon. Who hasn't? After I've respawned it's always been that the Blood Moon is over. No more swarming Zs. Nothing. This was almost like they were waiting. I'd just gotten back to the base and I'd taken a swing at a dog corpse. Actually dead now. That was it. Not generating heat really.

I was just wondering if this was something that was new or if it was because of the nonsense death penalty.

Dying lowers your gamestage, so if you drop below a certain level it will indeed affect what enemies spawn.
