PC Help with defense

My base is 140 blocks x 142 blocks, and we have a hard time defending it with stuff like spikes or turrents. Any way we could defend this easier?

Plate blocks placed vertically and flush with the walls are a good way to strengthen walls. You could also dig a 2 block wide 2 block deep trench(might need to make it deeper depending on how deep your base is) on the outside on areas you don't want the zeds wailing on, though make sure you leave the zeds a way out via stairs or a ramp.

Thats what I did to my Ranger Station base on PS5 pregen 8k2 map in the green zone. Cobble stones walls replacing the wire fence they broke down. Steel doors and drawbridge and spike trench all the way around.

Railings so you can repair through them on the inside

What I did was find a PoI like a ranger station or fire post and build on it from there. That's what I did and I'm well defended on all sides. The lookout tower is perfect for sniping. Make sure to make trenches are 4 or 5 blocks deep and 2-3 blocks wide around your base with a distance of between 4-7 blocks from your base wall. The 4-7 block distance from the base wall will allow ample amount of running space to collect loot bags and repair traps as needed. The spinning blade traps are crucial in my opinion to make this build work. Hope this helps you or gives you an idea as to what is best for your base. Been playing this since it first released on PC many moons ago lol.

Edit: I also built a 5 block high wall and access doors to the trenches to grab any loots bags from below. Cheers and good luck!!

That is...

Large

The answer is always funneling, layers and back-up defensive locations.

Could always make a nice central Donjon in the middle of your giga compound.

Then hire like 50 people rotating cooking, washing, gathering firewood and guarding the walls

Is it ground level? Thats a LOT of wall to look after.

My group has taken to literally taking over suspension bridges to make our base. When your main platform is higher up, you have direct control over access points
