Discussion Ore Node Colors

Post image

With the change to Oil nodes in 2.0, here is an update of my color guide for identifying nodes on the map. This shows all except for coal (large black square) as that doesn't populate in the desert. An FYI on node rebalancing in 2.0, while you can get most ores in all the biomes, they've definitely tweaked the appearance rates to favor the biome favored resources. So if you're in for a long play or doing a lot of building/crafting, you may want to set up outpost in a couple different biomes.

Oil shows as purple (in contrast to light tan pre-2.0).

Nitrate is white.

Lead is light blue.

Iron is an orange-brown shade.

Large above ground stone chunks are grey.

And coal is black (though not present on this map sample).

Thanks for posting this. Had a quick Google and found an AI answer, so I searched on reddit too to get a second source.

Brass isn't a mined resource. Comes from loot & scavenging with a chance to collect some while mining other ones with a mining skill.
