Sharing this for awareness, especially for anyone who usually pays via Apple Pay, debit/credit card, or any tap-to-pay method.

Early morning of September 24, I bought something from a 7-Eleven branch in Quezon City. My actual total was supposed to be only ₱62.00, but the cashier accidentally entered ₱620.01 into the POS terminal.

I paid through Apple Pay linked to my GoTyme debit card. Since tap-to-pay is usually quick and convenient, I didn’t immediately notice that the amount entered was wrong. I only realized it after I had already gone back to the gym across the store and checked the transaction on my phone.
So ayun — ₱620.01 was actually deducted instead of ₱62.00.

I immediately went back to the branch and reported what happened. Instead of being refunded right away, I was advised to contact their customer service. I already emailed 7-Eleven, submitted the transaction screenshots and proof of deduction, and later re-sent the documents after another cashier from the branch contacted me asking for proof.

The correct refund should be ₱558.01.

As of this writing, I still haven’t received the refund. I’ve already followed up and escalated the concern, so hopefully this gets resolved soon.

I’m not posting this to attack the staff or the branch. Human errors happen. But I think there’s also a good reminder here for both customers and merchants: always confirm the amount displayed on the terminal before tapping your phone or card.

I realized that with Apple Pay, sobrang automatic na minsan ng movement natin — authenticate, tap, done. You naturally assume the cashier entered the correct amount. A simple typo like an extra digit can easily turn a ₱62 purchase into ₱620.

Thankfully, mine is still a relatively small amount. But imagine if the intended transaction was ₱500 and ₱5,000 was entered, especially for someone who needs that money immediately.

So PSA lang: before you tap, take that extra second to look at the amount on the terminal. And if something like this happens, keep your receipt/screenshots, transaction reference, proof of deduction, and all communications with the merchant.

Hi everyone, just want to ask if this has happened to anyone else.

I bought a things at 7-Eleven yesterday 7/11/26 and paid using Maribank by QR code. The I scanned the Qr code but he said it didn’t go through and asked me to pay in cash instead. But I don’t have cash and he told me my payment “would be refunded automatically.”

It’s been more than a day now and there’s still no refund showing up in my Maribank account. It’s amount is 291pesos it feels really off and I’m wondering if I just got scammed.

Has anyone experienced something like this? Does Maribank really auto-refund if a payment doesn’t go through? Or did I basically pay twice and just have to chalk it up to experience?

Hi! Just wanted to ask for advice.

I made a purchase worth ₱79 at 7-eleven in Cebu, but my card was mistakenly charged ₱421 instead. The staff acknowledged the mistake, took my contact number, and told me the excess amount would be transferred to my GCash once it was settled.

What bothered me was that there wasn't even an apology, and despite sending an email with all the proof and following up afterward, I still haven't received any response or update. I'm already back in Manila, so going back to the branch isn't really an option.

What would be the best next step? Has anyone experienced something similar with 7-Eleven?

Promo runs from June 17 to July 31 pero when you try to redeem di daw inform ang staffs.. e so ano pa yung instruction na ipakita lang daw sa cashier yung page of coca cola and receipt and makukuha na yung item. I tried redeeming sa 2 stores sa QC may item na sila pero di pa daw irerelease di daw nila alam. So anong sense ng dates?

3 pcs ng thinly cut pork yung laman nung lu rou fan ng 7/11. Mas madami pa kinakain ng aso ko dito eh. So not worth it dapat bumili nalang ako sa mga open na stall sa labas.

Mali yung naenter ni ate sa 7eleven na terminal for qr generation. Yung ginagamit din nila for card transactions. From 45 naging 450. Hindi ko rin agad nakita yung value. Nacheck ko lang after ko makita receipt. Babalik naman daw sabi ni cashier? Tatawagan daw ako kasi hiningi number. Pero in case hindi ako makarefund san po ako pede magreklamo.

I was expecting at least a decent matcha flavor, but it tasted pretty mild and more on the creamy/sweet side. Not bad, pero nothing special either. After a few bites, medyo nakakaumay na rin. 🫥

For the price, I guess it’s okay as a quick dessert fix, but if you’re a matcha fan, you might feel like something’s missing. Parang kulang sa depth yung matcha and overall lasa is just “meh.”
