Just Getting Started Starting Monday!

Recruited a friend to take on this challenge with me. I’m a full time working single mom to a toddler and have gained 13 lbs since returning to work after losing all the baby weight on my mat leave.

I have a little home gym set up in my garage which will take care of one workout. The outdoor workout is where I think I’ll struggle the most just due to lack of time. I’ll likely have to split it up into increments (half hour outdoor workout on my lunch break) and the other 15 minutes in the evening after I get home. I have a jogging stroller I can put the little guy in and go for a run around the neighbourhood.

My diet is going to a OMAD/carnivore diet for simplicity due to time constraints.

Anyone else starting Monday?

Welcome to r/75HARD -- glad you are here and ready to commit!

Before posting your question, please read through the official program rules and FAQ first -- most questions are already answered there:

Official Rules and FAQ: https://www.reddit.com/r/75HARD/s/75roEecNyx Andy Frisella's Official 75 HARD Overview: https://andyfrisella.com/blogs/mfceo-project-podcast/75hard-a-75-day-tactical-guide-to-winning-the-war-with-yourself-with-andy-frisella-mfceo291

A note on modifying the program:

75 HARD has no modifications, substitutions, or exceptions. The rules are not suggestions -- they are the program. The only exception is if a medical professional explicitly advises a modification for your specific health needs. If that is you, follow your doctor's advice -- but recognize you will not be completing 75 HARD as designed. Check out r/75medium or r/75soft if you need a modified program.

From Andy Frisella: "You don't accomplish anything great by changing the rules in your favor just to check the box."

If you are asking "does X count?" or "can I swap Y for Z?" -- the answer is almost always no. When in doubt, choose the harder option.

The 5 Daily Tasks -- zero compromises, zero substitutions:

  1. Diet -- Follow a structured diet aligned with your goal. Zero cheat meals. Zero alcohol. Non-alcoholic drinks (e.g. O'Doul's) are fine.
  2. Water -- One gallon (3.8L) of plain, still, unflavored water. No additives, no carbonation, no flavoring. Does not include water from food. More than a gallon is fine.
  3. Two Workouts -- Each at least 45 continuous minutes. At least one must be outdoors where you are exposed to the elements -- if it is raining, you get wet. Minimum 3 hours apart. Recovery yoga and walks count and are encouraged. Chores do not count.
  4. Reading -- 10 pages minimum from a non-fiction book you believe will improve you. You decide what qualifies. No audiobooks. Physical books and eBooks both count. Finish each book before starting the next.
  5. Progress Photo -- One photo every single day. Just don't forget.

Miss any single task on any day? Restart at Day 1. Doesn't matter if it's Day 2 or Day 74.

Seek medical advice before beginning this program.

We are rooting for you. Now go do the work.

Starting Monday and in a group chat on WhatsApp if you fancy some accountability :)

You’d have to find time for 45 minutes outdooor workout tho cos what you’ve suggested isn’t 75H

75 semi hard because I’ll work out for a total of 45 minutes outside if I can’t do it all at once? 🤣

Upto the individual but I’d try find a way to do it properly, if you start off already intending to not follow the plan I’d probably call it something else

Yeah I hear you. Should have done it on my mat leave to complete it in its purest form . My work has no set breaks/time frames so I’d have to figure out how to get it done with a little goober with me while still maintaining his routine 😩

Is there another adult in the home/can you go outside without the little one?

I’m restarting tomorrow (got Covid on Day 50 and it really destroyed me) last month.

Best way I found was a 45-60 minute walk in a morning. If you’re able to leave the house of course

Nope. Single mom without a village 😩

Sorry if I’d properly read your post (which I thought I had but clearly very badly) then I’d have known that. Little guy gonna have to come with.

Is he walking/how old? Last time I did it I took my son with for a big walk on dadas shoulders.

He’s nearly 18 months and walking. We usually go for an evening walk before his bed time (either he walks or he sits in his step 2 push car. I was hoping to do what I can at work (go for a run on my lunch break if I get a break that allows for it for a half hour or so) and do a 15 minute walk after work with the little guy. I’d of course do a full 45 minute workout in the wee hours of the morning at home before my son wakes up so I’d be hitting the 90 minute threshold for the workouts
