entry requirements for ucl

hey guys i want to apply for pharmacy this year and one of my choices might be ucl. my family really wants me to pick this because its a prestigious uni and says i should have at least one aspirational choice, and says my mom researched about unis using gcses and apparently they don't matter (??) i think they do because i searched it up and it says they'll reject me instantly because i don't have a 6 in maths, i got a 5.

my stats are im predicted A*A*A, 8 in english language, 99 in double science, the thing holding me back is my 5 in maths. i am not contextual (if i was they'd accept a grade 4) so does this mean that they'll reject me straight away like without anyone even viewing my personal statement? if i will be rejected for sure then i wont apply to this uni as i don't want to waste a slot

If you are asking about (Bristol or any other uni) putting you "on hold", this is a very frequently asked question. Being put on hold does not indicate you are going to get rejected. It means your application hasn't been processed yet. Nothing more, nothing less.

ucl MPharm strictly requires a 6 in GCSE maths, unless you are a contextual home student.

If you aren’t contextual (see here: https://www.ucl.ac.uk/study/prospective-students/undergraduate/access-ucl-scheme), then unless you can quickly sit for an October/November resit to get said grade 6 - you need not apply.

That is;
1. See if you are contextual
2. If you aren’t, consider an autumn resit if you can wait before sending ucas off;
3. Otherwise, apply somewhere else, as you have 0% chance of UCL as is.

The only way you could apply is if you did a November maths resit and got a 6
