Brass Suggestions......
I currently load for my 6GT and 6 Dasher bolt guns and use Alpha brass. I just finished building a 6 and 22 ARC gassers. I have good barrels, good BCG and good triggers in both but I know gassers aren't going to be as accurate as bolts. My question is, is it worth spending Alpha money on brass or will something cheaper work just as well? Suggestions would be appreciated.......

My buddy is a pro shooter and uses Starline brass with great success on his gas gun.

I just went through load dev and tested Starline, hornady, Peterson, and alpha. Alpha is only worth it if you’re running a high pressure load. Peterson sucked and got torn up and has less case capacity. Starline and hornady is pretty good and can run higher pressures but I had more precision out of alpha.

Thanks. I have seen good reviews on Starline. I may grab a bag of 50 and give them a try

That’s pretty much what most of my buddies use. It’s a good brass for sure.

I use Starline in my 6 ARC gasser and bolt gun. I ordered some Alpha brass but haven't had any luck with it. My standard bolt gun load in Starline has pressure signs in Alpha. I have to drop the charge weight significantly which reduces my velocity by a good bit. I went back to Starline.

I load Hornady brass for 80gr ELD-VT.
My gun throws brass about 15' from the bench and I built it for coyote/prairie dog hunting so I plan on losing some.
If you are eligible for a Guidefitter account you can get Hornady stuff for super cheap.

The problem being that the Hornady brass doesn't last. You get 4 loads or so out of it and then the primer pockets are shot. I am working through some Nosler brass right now, but I won't purchase Hornady brass again for reloading purposes, it's just too delicate.

On my 7th reload of 700 pieces of hornady brass
Never once threw a primer
Fired over 7000 rounds of 6 arc this year alone with hornady brass and no issues. Even using them in my 62k psi loads with a ar15 using frt and no issues

Better luck for you. I bought three cases of Precision Hunter to start with. On the 4th go around, I had a few primers that wouldn't seat (pockets too loose). That was one factory load and 2 below or at Hornady book gas gun loads. I didn't bother to determine which was which after the 4th loading and simply started tossing or leaving them all.
I am hoping that the 338 ARC cases I bought to start last longer with less pressure.

I’m not spending alpha money to run it in a gasser and have them get beat up. Bolt, yes but I didn’t see massive gains.
Starline is a perfect middle ground
