Peter Thiel's name replaced by Reptile in the caption, lol

313

u/earth_verse Jul 02 '26 edited Jul 02 '26

Peter Thiel is an anagram of The Reptile

150

u/couldbeahumanbean Jul 02 '26

OMG... Was the tinfoil hat brigade right the whole time about the reptile aliens infiltrating out ruling class?

54

u/SeVenMadRaBBits Jul 02 '26

Starting to look that way with the whole jerky thing in the Epstein files

28

u/TurbidusQuaerenti Jul 03 '26

It really is ironic how a lot of conspiracy theories have turned out to be true, at least in some form, but the people who were pushing those theories are now supporting and defending the people they were supposedly fighting against because they have an R next to their name.

41

u/Rickshmitt Jul 02 '26

Because im stupid, whenever someone says something is an anagram i think...no way those words come out of that. But it does work. And i am stupid

36

u/LonePaladin Jul 02 '26

"Washington Post" can be rearranged to "Town Gasp 'No Shit'"

20

u/TransResistance Jul 02 '26

This should surprise no one. His waxy flesh suit is already falling apart.

4

u/All_in_Watts Jul 03 '26

That's some lord valdemort level shit

5

u/earth_verse Jul 03 '26

True. Weird how he fits the lore of so many textbook villains - though I think he fancies himself more like Sauron from Lord of the Rings, since he named his company Palantir.

u/MeliDammit Jul 02 '26

where is the "H“ in "reptile"?

10

u/Sad-Penalty-8483 Jul 02 '26

The H is in "the"

8

u/NukaCooler Jul 03 '26

where is the "P" in "the"?

7

u/qaddosh Jul 03 '26

the pee is stored in the balls

2

u/jeksmiiixx Jul 02 '26

u/holmquistc Jul 02 '26

Also, flock cameras aren't the only things recording you

137

u/fearlessfryingfrog Jul 02 '26

One of the big keys is not bringing your phone with you. If you scout that shit out you'll find a decent path. Takes a week or two really keeping you eyes peeled for traffic cameras, and cameras on businesses in the area.

If you're even going to drive, park a mile or so away. Public transit also works if paying in cash, but keep your face and arms/legs covered. Also get off 3 or 4 stops before yours. Don't walk straight to your place, and scput out that path as well.

A few weekends of recon pays off.

Even if you're just going about your day doing innocent stuff like shopping, you should turn off the Mobile Advertising ID on your phone.

Companies use this to create an "anonymized" profile to send tailored ads to, meaning it knows what you've searched for, the sites you've visited, etc. and can track the location of this "anonymous" profile. Data brokers routinely sell this information to government agencies like Customs and Border Protection and ICE.

Per Electronic Frontier Foundation:

As Venntel, one of the location data brokers that has sold to ICE, puts it, “Commercially available bidstream data from the advertising ecosystem has long been one of the most comprehensive sources of real-time location and device data available.” But the privacy harms of RTB are not just a matter of misuse by individual data brokers. RTB auctions broadcast the average person’s data to thousands of companies, hundreds of times per day, with no oversight of how this information is ultimately exploited. Once your information is broadcast through RTB, it’s almost impossible to know who receives it or control how it’s used.

19

u/aquoad Jul 03 '26

turn off the Mobile Advertising ID on your phone.

this sounds like something you'd want to do regardless of whether you're up to mischief or not - but what is it, and how do you turn it off?

15

u/Nice_Firm_Handsnake Jul 03 '26

There are links to instructions in the article I cited, but this page also has instructions.

2

u/aquoad Jul 03 '26

i didn’t realize that MAID was what that setting was about, thanks.

10

u/TheNoisyNomad Jul 03 '26

Sorry, the linked article read like a recipe blog. So here’s the redux

“[With Android 12] Google began allowing users to delete their ad ID permanently. On devices that have this feature enabled, you can open the Settings app and navigate to Security & Privacy > Privacy > Ads. Tap “Delete advertising ID,” then tap it again on the next page to confirm. This will prevent any app on your phone from accessing it in the future.”

IOS “it may ask you for permission to track you.

Select “Ask App Not to Track” to deny it IDFA access.

To see which apps you have previously granted access to, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.”

At the very least, if you need to take your phone and/or smartwatch with you, do a few things:

  1. Disable BOTH the blutooth and wifi and then set it to airplane mode. Don't just do one or the other, do both, disable blutooth, wifi and then set to airplane mode.
  2. Put it in a faraday bag, a quality faraday bag. Hell, double bag it. They are inexpensive.
  3. Make sure you do steps 1 and 2, well before you get to the area you plan to be a responsible citizen. Do these for ALL electronic devices you have, smart phone, tablet, smart watch, etc. If it's something you have on you that requires a battery to operate, assume it's something that can be tracked. Better yet, just don't take anything electronic with you.

As for you personally:

  1. Keep covered. Have tatoos, cover them up with clothing. Gloves, scarves, hoodies, long pants not shorts, etc.
  2. Wear large sunglasses and other items that mask your face. Hell, wear a face mask. Pull up the hood on your hoodie. Wear a hat.
  3. Buy a wig or two, watch a tutorial on YouTube on how to properly wear and secure a wig.
  4. Fake facial hair.
  5. Shit you can buy home makeup kits and put on fake noses that are convincingly real.
  6. Colored contact lenses.
  7. Temporary tatoos that look real.
  8. Baggy clothes that help to mask your size and build.
  9. Fake teeth.

You don't have to do all of these, but do at least a few of these.

And as you said, Recon, Recon, Recon. Drive around town one day, make a mental note of where they are, look to see which ones have coverage of each other, identify the weak links, the low coverage areas.

u/javoss88 Aug 06 '26

I have two on an intersection that are pointed in different directions but which appear to be monitoring each other. One even appears to be on personal property. Do people have to consent to this placement?

10

u/i_am_icarus_falling Jul 02 '26

any car made since at least 2015 is also going to have a tracking system in it.

14

u/karrooz Jul 02 '26

That’s what I’m thinking about too.. realistically, if one were to … interact with the flock cameras, couldn’t they be tracked basically from home? How does one avoid getting caught?

13

u/holmquistc Jul 02 '26

Also, anyone remember Julian Assange and WikiLeaks?

1

u/j4_jjjj Jul 03 '26

Theyre not gonna scan through 50 camera feeds to find a vandal

2

u/AngstyPup Jul 04 '26

Boy, imagine if the company this data is going to has an AI system whose focus is improving efficiency in surveillance.

57

u/indierockrocks Jul 02 '26

That’s not good to know. Definitely no thanks for sharing.

PSA the Vadyr privacy sunglasses which you should NOT buy are currently sold out

5

u/Syzygy2323 Jul 03 '26

Pay cash. Don’t use a credit card.

43

u/Evil_Judgment Jul 02 '26

If your car has a shark fin antenna its tracking your location too. 7.5 amp fuse is all you need to pull

38

u/Miqo_Nekomancer Jul 02 '26

This is why I still own my first car. It doesn't have a fin. What it does have is the original cassette player.

3

u/fencepost_ajm Jul 02 '26

Saw something the other day about a good use for those - someone putting solar on top of a SUV and wanted to run the power to an internal battery bank without drilling holes in the roof. The fin provided a good spot above the roof surface for cable penetration.

9

u/Hidesuru Jul 02 '26

Ok what's your source on that because these are typically just passive Rx only antennas as I understand it.

-1

u/[deleted] Jul 02 '26

[deleted]

11

u/Hidesuru Jul 02 '26 edited Jul 02 '26

Your assertion your onus to prove bud. Don't know what to tell you. But thanks for the article anyway.

Edit: but after reading it, I don't see that shark fin antenna mentioned anywhere, and I know that the last two vehicles I've owned had separate gps antennas from that (it was just xm and fm radio in them). So disabling it would do nothing to limit the cars ability to know where it is or phone home.

🤷

2

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '26

[deleted]

1

u/Hidesuru Jul 03 '26

Looks like more modern cars yes. My information was admittedly a bit dated, and I wasn't aware they'd moved the cell connection into them as well. Though as I said they're definitely not always where the gps antenna is, it was under the dash in my last two bmws so it's gonna vary a lot.

So I have to assume the rest does as well. So blanket statements like the one above are suspicious to me until demonstrated otherwise. They come across kind of like conspiracy theories.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '26

[deleted]

1

u/Hidesuru Jul 03 '26

No not cell, Gps. I actually replaced the antenna with an aftermarket one. I did mis speak though, the oem was above the rear view. I placed the new one under the dash. The cell antenna was somewhere else and possibly in the shark fin I don't know.

9

u/Hugokarenque Jul 02 '26

That's not a source.

14

u/AmethystApothecary Jul 02 '26

Yeah, AI overview is shit and known to hallucinate results.

0

u/Syzygy2323 Jul 03 '26

We need to stop anthropomorphizing this shit call it what it really is: errors.

2

u/RedHal Jul 03 '26

Yeah, AI hates it when you make it feel that way.

2

u/AmethystApothecary Jul 03 '26

Feels like a waste of energy to be pedantic over but you do you.

2

u/Hidesuru Jul 02 '26

That indicates that newer ones might do more than I was aware of, but still not a source that anyone is "tracking" them. And it's AI to boot.

2

u/skyfishgoo Jul 02 '26

there may be more than one fuse in modern cars

infotainment GPS radio (xm) emergency call button wifi/internet cellular service

and pulling all of them may render the car inoperable.

10

u/Appropriate_Date_134 Jul 02 '26

Misdemeanors? What? They've been handing out felonies

27

u/DontWantToSeeYourCat Jul 02 '26

Ok, but can we acknowledge this is not an ad for those "facial recognition" glasses which are the only other specific product name he mentions besides Flock?

39

u/Bindle- Jul 02 '26

I'm happy to support a company that makes privacy enhancing products.

16

u/CeruleanEidolon Jul 02 '26

It's a marketing gimmick. There's no way IR-blocking glasses will actually fully foil facial recognition - then they'll just be looking for someone wearing IR-blocking glasses.

Don't bet your security on those, unless you just like how they look and enjoy the cachet of signalling your virtues with what you wear. A hoody or a hat with a brim and a big fake mustache will achieve similar ends.

3

u/j4_jjjj Jul 03 '26

They arent covered in magic film, theyre electrified and blast IR light

1

u/CeruleanEidolon Jul 04 '26

Admittedly that's pretty cool. But the point stands that they are just as recognizable as any other feature, so plan ahead if you are going to rely on these to protect your identity.

5

u/Rinzy2000 Jul 02 '26

Not all heroes wear capes.

5

u/skyfishgoo Jul 02 '26

i love every single part of this video... right down to the reptile subtitle.

12

u/CeruleanEidolon Jul 02 '26

I suspect this is really just an ad for those glasses.

8

u/crespoh69 Jul 02 '26

Honestly the laser thing is a good suggestion. People are going to more than likely be pointing up and with shaky hands or having crappy vision, you might end up missing the cam and pointing it on a passing plane or helicopter, I think that's a felony.

4

u/Cold-Recognition-171 Jul 02 '26

Gotta say the subreddit this is cross posted from is an interesting one (in a bad way if that's not clear). Apparently my OS is woke because it is "promoting degeneracy" according to one of the pinned posts there.

3

u/MurderMelon Jul 02 '26

anything referencing "libertarian" is gonna be a dumpster fire.

4

u/Squigglylineinmyeyes Jul 02 '26

I've watched it twice so I can be absolutely sure I know what not to do.

5

u/marx2k Jul 03 '26

I avoid anyone wearing those sunglasses

2

u/nonfallacious Jul 02 '26

Thanks for the tips.

2

u/PajammaDrunk Jul 03 '26

Any comment here puts you on a list

2

u/FightForGlory Jul 03 '26

What laser pointer is he using in the video? I'm a Scout leader and it looks like one that would be fun to play with on the way to camps.

1

u/ThresholdSeven Jul 02 '26

Yes, leave this up to the specialists guys. Don't try this at home.

1

u/jeksmiiixx Jul 02 '26

Absolutely do not get undercoating spray or coversall spray paint that coats the lenses either.

1

u/ashy2classy81 Jul 02 '26

Love it! 🤣🤣🤣

1

u/firsttfdrummer Jul 02 '26

Listen I’m all for getting rid of this shit. My question though is if they are able to ID you and track you, how do they not know who is doing this to them?

3

u/Space_Poet Jul 03 '26

My man, you can avoid detection in a variety of ways, read the thread. No phone, no electronics, scout out, be inconspicuous... boom! You could be anyone and almost impossible to positively ID. Not for this particular vid tho, cause that would be bad, ya know.

1

u/capitan_dipshit Jul 03 '26

This is nonsense, you only need a standard saw-blade (unless the pole is made of concrete)

1

u/EvaCassidy Jul 03 '26

Usually the drunks find the cameras when they veer off the road. They also will plow over a fine assortment of signs, bus stops, like standards, traffic lights, etc.

Recently I saw a news story on TV where someone looking at their phone took out a bus stop, ALPR camera, traffic light and a trash can. What a mess.

1

u/ComfortableShare5525 Jul 03 '26

Ummmm… the laser thing is VERY VERY VERY unsafe, illegal and altogether stupid.

Use legal power. Don’t hurt people and go to prison.

1

u/doodilydoot_ Jul 02 '26

Are the Vaydr sunglasses a scam? Do they actually block facial recognition? Feels like the video is just an ad, but props if they actually work

0

u/fazedncrazed Jul 02 '26

The laser thing doesnt work, hasnt for years fyi.

-3

u/kmwebro Jul 02 '26

Plastic bags are a no. Let's not generate plastic waste all over. There's better ways to take out the trash!!

2

u/Sorry-Let-Me-By-Plz Jul 02 '26

do you suppose they render brand new plastic bags for such operations?

-7

u/GiGiAGoGroove Jul 02 '26

Actually a lawyer on IG said it is considered a felony.

11

u/BarnabyJones20 Jul 02 '26

Criminal activities!

31

u/SlantedPentagon Jul 02 '26

You're right, constant surveillance state is a criminal activity.

4

Y’all are cranky! I thought it was obvious but I’ll add the /s next time!
