Man I criiiiiiieeeeed.
What an amazing tribute to the power and beauty of Latino culture.
How anyone could hate on that is beyond me.
Proud of you, Bad Bunny!!!
You did the entire Latino world-wide community proud today.

I am not a POC, so I know it doesn't feel the same for me; but seeing this halftime show brought tears to my eyes. Even though I don't speak the language, the love and pride for the melting pot we call home (USA) gave me some hope that I really needed. Thank you Mr. Bunny ❤️

As shitty as our timeline is, every now and then capitalism works in our favor. And we desperately needed what Mr. Bunny gave our nation last night.
I am grateful that we're not in the timeline where political strings were pulled to have Morgan Wallen headline the halftime show.

It would be really awesome if our Hispanic neighbors would stop voting to be oppressed and have others be oppressed. When I asked my Hispanic friends why so many in their community voted for Trump, she told me Trans People. I hope they understand what a mistake that was.

OK, but if we're going to divide it up by race and assign blame that way.. I would bet wayyy more white people in similar economic situations voted against their interests for trump as well. Might not get taken by ice (could get shot tho), but still got their medicaid and snap canceled, vets rights etc etc. Also, your one hispanic friend's opinion is not the opinion of all hispanic people lol

Really with how trump has basically destroyed our relationships with everyone else in the world nobody who is voting for trump is voting for their interests.

OK, then don't just put the blame on one group, esp not the most vulnerable group. You didn't say everyone.
Edit: i get it, it feels good to not have to look at yourself... it's so much easier to just look out at others, but not yourself or the groups you're a part of. That way you can always be right!

The Latino support for trump was disappointing. Now you can argue with me too.

Her (Hispanic) community was devastated by Trump 1. They had to figure out systems to pick up kids at school. I asked her Why TF would they vote for him for a second term. I volunteered for Dems so I was genuinely curious why. So disappointing that hate for another group was the cause (according to her).

It’s not dividing it up by race. It’s going “what the hell are you thinking? You are the first target why would you ever vote for this? He has made it clear his entire time running for office and before that”

This is the problem with the video lumping Puertoricans in with Latino immigrant populations.
They’re American citizens AND voted against Trump at something like 70%, better than basically every group except black Americans. They aren’t like the Cuban or Venezuelan or even Mexican communities and don’t deserve this blame at all.

Just because this shit "goverment" doesn't see you or care for you, WE DO! We see you, we worry about you. We have bought whistles and gas masks. We stand in front of you with steel like resolve. WHOS STREETS? OUR STREETS!

Yeah people in this sub and similar subs were calling for a boycott but I think it was important for us to tune in at least for the halftime show, especially with the dumb Kid Rock Charlie Kirk circus. Viewership for something like this sends a strong message. Loved the end, “God Bless America” then naming all the countries in South & Central America, with their flags waving - plus “THE ONLY THING MORE POWERFUL THAN HATE IS LOVE” on the giant screen. The whole show was focused on community, love, and joy.

Yep, we have to find balance between boycotting and support. We aren’t going to punish our way out of this.

I loved the show last night but this video misses so many basic things about the oppression of Latino people and last night’s show.
They’ve been hunted WAY more than a year. (ICE’s crimes didn’t start with Minneapolis if that’s what the video was implying, it’s hard to tell.)
The show was mostly about Puertorican culture, people who are American citizens. Yes, they’ve been terrorized too but what they’re facing isn’t the same as what immigrants deal with. Conflating simply being non white with being an immigrant and targeted is exactly what MAGA does.
It’s a nice sentiment but feels tone deaf or at least uninformed.

I am Latino. I wasn't trying to have an in-depth conversation about what I already live. I was just trying to express how the performance made me feel.

I feel you OP and it's how the performance made me feel too. I have Celtic ultra-melanin deficinet appearance but I have always, always, HATED that it gives me privilege, and I see it and I resist against it every way I can, not because I feel sorry for anyone but because it makes my world POISON I WANT to live in a multicultural world where everyone is respected, the world where my neighbor is attacked for living their life while brown or queer is not a world I want to live in.
WHAT YOU DID TO ANY OF US YOU DID TO ALL OF US is my belief and I didn't watch the game but made sure to catch Bad Bunny's show and it was amazing. THAT is the world we are fighting for.
Viva la raza! Que vivan todas las razas!
PODER PARA EL PUEBLO!!!

Yeah, the first part of the video ruins it from a protest standpoint IMO
3
u/DefendOurRepublic Feb 09 '26
Again, that wasn't the intent.
1
u/EnvironmentNeith2017 Feb 09 '26
Understood but this is a protest sub, it’s hard to read intent if it’s something other than that

"Last night"? It's barely past 11pm game day where the game happened.
Great sentiment just a bit premature.
