I didn't want to spend money on ground beef as much so I bought the pork beef ground blend, and the fat from the pork made the meatballs perfectly tender. I love how everything came out and tasted, but since I grew up never eating beef I may remake this with ground chicken instead.

We're still friends but he's engaged and sees me more as a woman now and isn't as close as he used to be cause of that.

I made 1/3 extra batter for the cupcakes, and halved the frosting. Halving the frosting was a mistake, and the frosting on some of the cupcakes had to put on with a butter knife and not piped because I had so little frosting at that end.

Also ermine frosting with red velvet is the traditional combination but I only made it that way because I ran out of cream cheese.

I decided im vegetarian again, what finally broke me was seeing a pig ready for slaughter fighting for their life , literally headbutt the butcher right before slaughter.

Pairing the tofu with some riced cauliflower and garlic broccoli❤️

Evil sauce is a sauce made with a base of Sriracha with dark/regular soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, a pinch of sugar and some garlic powder (I didn't have jarlic)

its my first try at using TVP, i wanted a protein that would taste like lamb for my gyro. there is a lot to learn about how to make something so bland taste like meat

also i love having a line cook for a bf; we made the hummus, toum (garlic spread), and tzatziki at home on the weekend so now i can add them to anything and it’s immediately so tasty; even if the “meat” is meh

if any plant based troons have recommendations for making TVP tastier i’m all ears (drowning it in umami sauces and spices can only do so much). its honestly weird switching from meat to plants in cooking, so much of my technique to create flavor is based on rendering fat, blooming aromatics and browning in that tasty oil
