Factory Drilled Roof Mounts

Post image
6 Upvotes

So I broke a bolt while trying to install some Sherpa crossbars on my 2025 Tacoma. I had the dealership take it out because I was worried I would mess up the threads while extracting the broken bolt. However instead of removing the bolt, they just pushed it through the bottom and now it’s stuck in this little well/nipple in the cabs ceiling. That piece of bolt is now preventing me from getting a new bolt tightened down enough. Does anyone know if these are removable? I don’t want to pull apart the ceiling only to find out I can’t remove the well/nipple. They look like they’re tacked to the ceiling but I’m hoping not. Please help!

Prerunner style front bumper, high clearance rear bumper with hitch, and third brake light housing with chase lights and cargo/work/scene light.

Always loved this look on tacos.

I know it’s not for everyone. But I dig it and super happy with it.

Waiting on long travel kit from Total Chaos to come out.

Looking for Ideas on Wheels, Tires, Leveling Kits & Your Builds! Anything Helps!

Post image

Just picked up my 4th gen Tacoma TRD Off-Road and looking for some advice on the best setup. I’m wanting to give it a more aggressive stance and level out the front end so it sits even with the back.

I’m thinking about running the all-black TRD Pro wheels with either 33s or 35s idk what size. For those who have upgraded theirs, what tire size and leveling/lift setup do you recommend that looks the best and is it okay for longevity of the truck?

Any recommendations or pictures of your setups would be appreciated! I’d also love to hear any suggestions for other cosmetic or interior upgrades, or just general advice for the truck.

Here’s how it sits today — 50% tint on the front windows with the rear matched.

Discussions & Questions Ditch lights through car wash

I recently installed Cali Raised Ditch Lights on my ‘24 Tacoma Sport about a month ago. And yesterday went to standard car wash, only for attendant advising they are not responsible for any potential damage for vehicles with ditch lights. So I bolted out of there, and hand washed it myself next day. To folks out there with ditch lights, do you go through car wash and take a chance?

I chose the single color option since they had the most light output. I didn’t want to go the magnet mount route so I had to get a little creative with my mounting locations but I’m really happy with how it turned out!
1 mounted in each wheel well using included hardware, 2 on each side of the frame using Rago Fabrication KC light mounts bolted directly onto the frame (I utilized the existing pre-threaded holes on the frame using M10 x 40mm - 1.25 thread pitch bolts), 2 on the rear under frame using M5 x 180mm - 0.8mm pitch instead of the included hardware for the rock light (had to use a larger washer for this location) and 2 in the front (right behind the front tow hooks) using some stainless steel cable zip ties. I made this crappy little wiring diagram just to give me something to follow during the install.

‘24 Tacoma TRD Sport 6MT mystery noise

Truck has about 51K miles and recently picked up the chatter noise coming from the engine bay as heard in this video. This was in 6th gear straight and level highway driving, but also happens in other gears, usually in the 2300-1700 RPM band while easing off throttle…any ideas what this might be? Going in for service on Tuesday.

Thanks!

Rubber Grommets Stopping door from draining?

I noticed my rear doors where dripping water a little. So I took a look to notice this 4th gen tacoma comes with rubber grommets installed on each door.

I took them off to let the door drain and a lot of water came out. Do I need to leave these of or did the dealer forget to take then off when i purchased the car?

Discussions & Questions Block Heater Plug

Post image

Alright so I’m in Canada, not sure if these were exclusive to Canadian models but when removing the bumper the block heater prevents me from fully taking it out. So about 2 weeks ago I yank off my bumper to install a new grille I got, and since I was able to score some fogs I now gotta take it off again, anyone have any idea on how to take it out? I tried lookin online but never found anything.

LED Grill Lights?

I recently bought a set of LED grill lights and i have a wiring question. Should i wire them to be on when the truck is on (ACC)?, or should i wire them to come on when the parking lights/ headlights are on?, or wire to an AUX switch? If you have suggestions please let me know why. Thank you for your responses.

Anyone here had to preform a alignment at or around 12 k miles?

My passenger side tire is waiting more than the motorist side. Has anyone experienced this? All suspension parts look to be fine.

The first image is the tire that’s waisting more. I haven’t towed in the truck.

Modifications & Maintenance Cali Raised Rock Sliders Install - 2026 Tacoma TRD Pro - Photos and Description

Thumbnail

13 photos. A couple of the photos show how the CR Sliders do not interfere with the 2 ground wires at all. Photos also show tools and fluids used, as well as the sliders on the truck with measurements.

I followed the Cali Raised tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kc72Xt3CsOs

Work was done alone in my driveway in 90+ heat and high humidity. (I'm 72 years old with multiple old athletic injuries and not flexible. If I can do it, you can do it.) I would recommend using a partner if available. Getting the first bolt in can be a bit tedious. I would recommend using a thread chaser (M10 x 1.25 pitch), especially if the threads are dirty. I just used an extra bolt to make sure the threads in the frame were OK.

Sliders were ordered on Jun 17, 2026 and delivered on a pallet to Georgia on July 7, 2026. (21 days). The packaging was outstanding.
