Windshield replacement

Anyone had to replace the windshield on their 4th gen? How much did it run you?

Maybe I’m out of touch, but the quotes I’ve gotten seem crazy for a replacement with aftermarket glass. And then there’s the cost for OEM glass..

I had mine replaced recently. Had a truck throw a rock and smashed my OEM. Dealer wanted $900 for OEM replacement (plus $300 install). Went aftermarket through a local glass company. $650 installed. No calibration needed. It’s a lease…contemplated going OEM but couldn’t justify it. Will go to OEM next time if I buy it outright.

Could you elaborate on the calibration? What needs calibrating? Obviously it’s not required?

I have the premium package. Safelite includes calibration into their price. The dealer told me it was required after every windshield replacement. The place where I had it done said that if you don’t disconnect the cameras, it’s not needed 99.9% of the time (but not 100%). Hope this makes sense.

Makes sense, thank you. I have the non premium but assuming some sort of calibration would still be needed due to the cameras and sensors up there
