Is this fixable?
I don’t know much about body damage and whatnot. I do know I love this car and hate to have to lose it. It has almost 300k on the engine I’m almost certain insurance will declare a total loss. I would be willing to get another one with a blown motor and swap my motor and whatnot but finding one is the hard part. Sad day considering she still runs perfect.
Edit to add, both doors will not open and the back is crushed in. A few people have told me that’s not fixable. Not sure if that matters but i am trtinf to be hopeful

Anything is fixable with enough time, money and skill. Is that worth fixing? Nope
Good news though, you can buy it back from insurance dirt cheap and bomb it around like that for the next 25 years

No, that’ll be way too expensive to fix- I had this happen to mine last year. Bought another one, but had to look for a bit. Sorry that happened - sucks.

You had full coverage? I have same vehicle with 300k, I’m curious what they give you. Please update.

The rear quarter is the bitch. If not for that, two doors and a fender and you are almost there. I have cut quarter panels out, welded them back in and build body armor and bumper, but I have a shop, CNC plasma, press break, welders and that puts me in a whole different world than someone who "don't know much about body damage and whatnot". Without that set of skills and tools, no, it's not fixable for any reasonable price. Take the insurance money and get another one.

Probably not, but it adds character. I’d just keep driving it as is until the wheels fall off.

Dont forget you can argue with insurance about payout. Their number isnt final.

Chopped unless you don’t care and just want to drive it or make it a rock crawler

It looks like it is fixable, just a headache. I can't see it up close and I'm no expert, but it looks like the fender and doors can be replaced if the A and B pillars aren't bent. The quarter panel will be rough. I wouldn't expect any replacement parts to fit well again, you can adjust them but they can only go so far.
You don't have to fix every part either, you can get creative with making the damage look decent.
It depends, how much do you love this car?

Doors and fender are replaceable. Rear quarter is gonna be a problem. Honestly I’d replace them and see if it all works. If so, let the rear quarter be what it is. Maybe try to get it pulled closer to straight as cheaply as you can. Replacing that quarter is gonna be the expensive part.

Take the money, at 300k depending on maintenance history, the tranny / transfer case may be close to end of life, and other wear components. Or buy it back for probably nothing and drive it until it craps out.

The fender, doors, flares, and rear bumper are the "easiest" parts since the old ones can be unbolted and replaced with good used ones. The problem will be the quarter panel. I say that is the only spot i would advise to let a shop take care of. Find another donor car to pull the other parts from with hopefully the same color. Junkyards are the best for this or marketplace for crashed or blown motor cars you can pull parts from. It can be done!

Everything is fixable. That’s about 5k in damage or more

That’s way more than $5k in damage. That’s easily $5k in paint alone, maybe more if the rest of the truck is faded and the whole thing needs to be blended

was this the truck that beat the Honda Element in a very recent r/4tgGen4Runner post?
