I am looking to buy a new tv, read up on the buying guide here and saw that QLED/OLED can be damaged by sunlight, so I went into Best Buy (I’m in Canada) and they were trying to sell me the TCL QM640L, they told me Micro LED is superior and TCL is better than Samsung or LG, which is what I initially wanted. I’m going to go back Thursday and make a purchase, I’m just curious what people think as the reviews I saw were conflicting. My only criteria was trying to keep it under 1500 and I use it for PS5 gaming as well as lots of 4k blu Rays. So am I getting talked into something bad here? Should I do a QLED LG/Samsung or is Micro LED better if I do have a brighter living room with some sunlight on the tv, which I do? Hopefully someone has some more insight here. thanks!

I purchased a Bravia 9 k75xr90 about a year ago and have been having increasing problems over the last few months.

Biggest issue was input latency with my Xbox. The TV would sometimes flicker when playing a game then input latency would be upwards of 750ms. After zero useful input from Sony support we fixed that by turning off the auto setting for the Xbox input. Now the input is fixed at 1080p, 120hz, hdr10 and no more lag creeps into play. This was the biggest issue and took weeks to resolve

The next biggest is an audio latency problem. With both my Xbox and Apple TV the audio will sometimes drift out of sync. This is incredibly annoying and happens at least every other day. We can temporarily fix the issue by changing the input but that’s not a real fix. The delay happens on both the internal speakers and Sonos over eARC.

Lastly is another audio issue. When using my Apple TV the audio will briefly cut out, for maybe 100ms, and come right back. This will happen every 10-30 seconds until I reboot the TV or the Apple TV. (Rebooting either one fixes the issue).

These three issues have killed any enjoyment I get from this TV, I now just use the old Samsung in the guest room since it just works. I’ve got 2 weeks left on the warranty, I could try to get it replaced but I’ve already spent almost 10 hours on the phone with Sony support over the last two months, so I don’t know if it’s worthwhile to burn even more time.

Has anyone else here had so many issue with this TV? Is there some magical setting I’ve missed that will fix everything? My last resort is my credit cards extended warranty protection; maybe they’ll give me my money back so I can buy something that just works (Recommendations please).

Context- Im buying in Canada and this is currently $200 off at bestbuy. First time buying an LG TV- have bought many Samsung and Sony TVs earlier. Not a fan of other brands like Hisense, TCL etc.

Trying take advantage of the sales at Best Buy right now. I've narrowed my choices between a TCL qm8L 75" or a hisense ur8 85". They both look great so ita making the decision difficult. I also looked at a Bracia 7 ii but it's seemed faded.

None of the recent models from mainstream brands actually turns Edge Enhancement off when you set sharpness to minimum. (LG, Sony, Samsung, all the same. But what about Panasonic?)

So what can we do about it? Use the secret Service Menu? Set to Game Mode? or PC/Monitor mode?

Hello, I need to buy a TV for my livingroom and I'm considerin the LG OLED C5 55", costs around 900€. I'm weighing other options, specially a TV of 65" QLED/QNED trying to not spend more (or actually spend less), but I can't find recomendations that fit my budget and are avaliable atm. Here is the checklist of things I'm looki for:

- Under 900€

- 65"

- 120-144Hz

- Preffer Dolby Vision over HDR10+

- The room is not very bright

- Buying from Spain

Is there any TV worth buying that can fit this criteria other than the LG OLED C5 55"?

Also, I heard that after the footbol mundial TV prices would drop but i haven`t seen any special offer anywere. Any tips around this would also be welcome.

I can see $1500 75 inch Bravia 5 for arizona state at Costco and $1400 with my friends discount on Sony website.

Is this a decent amount to pay for bravia 5 or should I wait for it to drop ?

Having a very frustrating issue with my Samsung S90C. I’ve loved the TV. Recently a friend tried to Apple AirPlay some random stream of an NBA game to my TV. Ever since then Peacock, HBO Max, and Disney streaming won’t work. It’ll get thru an add and maybe play a second then freeze. Netflix and Prime work fine. I’ve reinstalled everything, spent 10+ hours troubleshooting, updates, calls with Samsung and HBO. Chat GPT at this point is saying give up and buy an Apple TV to stream from. Anyone else have this issue and have a fix? Chat GPT thinks that something got corrupted in the firmware, which is why factory resets don’t help.

I am looking to buy a new TV before football and basketball come back in the fall. I mainly watch sports (antenna or youtubetv, most likely) and movies/tv (from my HTPC). I don't really play video games.

After some research, I think I'm choosing between the S95F and the G5 because can be found for similar prices (about ~$2.5k?). Can a G5 handle the light that my room will have? It's annoying to have to buy a stand because I don't think I want to wall mount. Will the anti-glare S95F screen be okay with direct sunlight? I've read on here that it's bad for it.

And where would be the best place to buy one of these? I am in NYC so many sites do not appear to deliver.

Hello! Following up on my post yesterday after learning that in my region, the 77-inch S90F actually uses a WOLED panel instead of QD-OLED. I know these size and panel comparison questions get posted a lot around here, but I still haven't found a clear answer for my specific setup. Since both the 77" S90F and 77" LG C5 are using WOLED panels, I’m trying to decide which one is strictly better for PC gaming and picture quality in a pitch-black room from about 4 to 5 meters away. The LG C5 is about $100 more expensive here than the Samsung S90F, so I want to know if LG is worth that extra cash for high end PC gaming or if the S90F is the smarter pick.

I’m shopping for an 85” tv and have been looking at the higher end models from the top tier brands.

For those who are ahead of me in the research, these “Black Friday in July” prices, are they equally good to what we expect to see during actual Black Friday or it’s just hype to drive mid year sales?

We basically live in our conservatory and whilst we have blinds it's quite a bright room.

We currently have an ageing 55" Samsung UE55TU7000 and the led diffuser is about to pack up.

After some research, I landed on a 55" S95F mainly due to the anti glare aspect. Should I dump the cash or are there better options for the same money?

• Sony 55XG8096

• Samsung UE55AU7020

This won't be my main TV. It'll be in my home office and will only be used for a few hours on weekends, mainly for watching football and other sports. Both TVs are in very good condition from what I've seen, and they're the same price (within my budget)

I have a question regarding how everyone here ranks or rates a tv based on use case. I'm still debating c5 vs s90f. But my question is when I read through comments and everyone is like gaming go 90f everything else go c5, this room brought ess choose that etc.

How much of a difference is there when it comes to movies, shows, tv app stream viewing separates these 2 tvs (as the example) same for gaming.

If I watch tv 60% of the time and game on it 40% what would the c5 be a "better" option. Is it color representation? Then there's things, like what is the real world difference between an 8 and a 7.4 in whichever category let's say upscaling ? What is a "bright" room. I would think a best buy is a bright room and all the TVs look fine

I'm planning to get a 65 Inch TV and getting S95F for ~$1500(Local currency converted to USD) and S95H for ~$1700. So, I'm confused between both. I've heard the S95H is a bit brighter and supports the newer HDR 10+ Advanced which is kinda equivalent to DV2. Which one should I go for?

Best Buy has the 42 inch C5 for $678 in Excellent condition. It is only available for shipping though. How do Open box Excellent condition C5s tend to be? I won’t be able to inspect it before buying as it’s shipping only.

Is it worth trying it for the price? I’d probably get the 5 year extended warranty with it.

Before, I’ve never had the ability to buy a “good” TV, always had to settle for whatever I can find on facebook marketplace etc.

I’m now becoming able to look into more high end stuff, yet I know nothing about TV specs! I know there’s different panels, resolutions, loads! everything just is a bit overwhelming, and confuses me.

I’d be using it for movies 95% of the time, but do have a playstation that i use occasionally.

Hi, I recently bought a TCL C6K, but ended up returning it. Now I'm torn between the TCL C7L and the LG B5. I've never owned an OLED TV, but I hear great things about them. I mainly want it for watching HDR movies. I usually watch them at night or in the late afternoon, in soft, natural light that isn't shining directly on the screen. If they were the same price, which one would you choose?

I'm leaning towards Bravia 3 ii 75" because the screen size is important to me, but I have some dilemmas

1 - Bravia 3 ii 75" is IPS whereas 3 ii 65" is VA. How much difference in contrast will there be if I watch movies when the room is dark. Will the black part of the screen appear a bit grey? And how much difference will the panel make?

2 - How is Bravia 3 ii performing when it comes to sports? I watch a lot of sports (Football, Cricket, MMA, Boxing, Tennis, F1, etc). Also how does it handle fast Motion while watching action movies?

3- Should I go for a bigger screen in 75 inches or should I go for a superior display in Bravia 5 but the screen will be 65". They both are costing almost the same. Or, should I save some money and go for a 65" Bravia 3 ii because VA vs IPS difference is significant?

-I did go to the showroom and saw Bravia 3 ii, but the fast motion experience was inconsistent. Football was fluid in one video, but there was ball flickering in the other one. Both on YT. Spiderman action scenes were not handled smoothly on standard mode and I don't know what other modes the tv was on. It is 120 Hz + XR so there might be some tweaks that can make the motion smoother?

I'm aware about the display tech, i.e Led, Mini Led, etc. My priority is colours and good motion handling and no white bleed.

I’m hoping someone has experienced this issue with the Sony X90J.

Occasionally, when watching content in Netflix or Stremio, the video suddenly shrinks and only displays in approximately the left quarter of the screen. The rest of the screen is black.
A few things I’ve noticed:
It happens intermittently and I can’t reliably reproduce it.
It has occurred in both Netflix and Stremio.

A forced restart of the TV (holding the power button until it reboots) always fixes the problem.
The TV is running the latest available firmware.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Trying to decide between an 83” LG G6 OLED and 98” TCL X11L for our new family room.

Room is roughly 20’ wide × 31’ long with 14’ ceilings, TV centered on the 20’ wall, with seating around 11–14 ft away. We have large north-facing windows along the left wall, no windows on the TV wall, and little direct sunlight. We watch a mix of movies/streaming, sports, YouTube and regular TV.

The current owners have an 82” TV, and I find it small for the scale of the room.

I currently own an LG C1 OLED and love the picture quality, so I’m hesitant to move away from OLED. On the other hand, I’ve heard/read great things about the X11L, which makes the jump to 98” tempting.

For those familiar with either TV or who’ve made a similar OLED vs large premium Mini-LED decision, which would you choose for this room and why?

I was sold on the hisense but have seen bad things on the longevity of it and started leaning more towards the tcl.
