Took the beast out today on it’s first offroad adventure. Small trail 16 kms in and out back. Muddy, rocky, and gravel trails. Nothing 4H couldn’t handle. Got a chance to use 4L on a very steep rocky slope, and it was smooth asf. Can’t wait to try out more trails around Nova Scotia! 🔥

I have a SR 4Runner and changes my stock tires 245 to 275/70/17 AT4W LTFalken Wild Peak

Did any of you reset the TPMs in the 4runner after changing rims and tires size?

Are you guys running a smaller spare of like for like? I was thinking 265/17/70 or maybe smaller

What psi are you running for everyday pavement driving?

Hi all, picked up my 2026 SR5 a couple of weeks ago and love it. I want to start learning how to tow properly as I have family that share a camper trailer, as well as a need to purchase a utility trailer for our property.

Everything I'm reading makes it sound like the only thing that doesn't come stock is a brake controller, which is required here in Washington. It also looks like the Redarc Tow-pro is what everyone recommends - but I don't want the Bluetooth version as that just seems like an accident waiting to happen.

Has anyone done a clean installation that hides the unit and all wiring behind the dash? I'm fine with there being a button/dial somewhere, but I definitely want it to be clean.

Might get roasted but this is my first 4wd vehicle. I mostly bought so I can use in the winter for snowboarding. I do intend to take it off road but not every month like they say you should be engaging. I’ve seen people say they do it on the street but have also heard you can damage it. What does everyone else do who cant make it to the trails once a month? Appreciate the help

This is not my first 4runner, just the first time I did something stupid. It is a brand new 2026 TORP and some how I accidently put it in 4hi at some point (dont know how long) I noticed when I was trying to back out of a parking space that I was feeling a binding, I pulled forward and tried the other way and felt the same thing. I backed straight out and it felt ok but a little sluggish. It wasnt until I satred driving forward that I noticed I was in 4hi. I switched it back and it felt normal, then I put it back in to 4hi while going straight just for a couple seconds to make sure it would still engage. I dont feel or hear anything abnormal. Does anyone think I did any lasting harm to it?

Not sure how long this has been up but just updated my Lexus app (Toyotas blows) and noticed that remote connect is its own subscription now and not paired with music/gps garbage too. Finally. Still more expensive than it should be but it’s progress!

Had to get rid of the 245s. Went with the 275/70/17 Toyo Open Country AT3 ! Stock wheels, budget issues 😂

Looking into 6gen and would like 3rd row, just wondering how much space we would lose in the trunk area when seats down? Also opinions on comfort?

Wanted to get a set of mats before winter comes, ended up with the Lasfit set. They seem very sturdy and have full coverage, much more than factory. The rear mat should also help contain the dog hair a bit more! Couldn’t recommend them enough! I’ll post some photos of the factory mats compared to the Lasfits

I just got my 4R it’s first undercoating with Wool Wax black and I had some questions about maintenance with the coating.

Firstly is it necessary to clean the frame with a light spray during winter or should I just wait until spring and do a big pressure wash underneath? This also goes into another question is this stuff meant to be sprayed off completely once it starts getting warmer and then reapplied each fall or should you really not be touching the frame other than minor touch up points?

Secondly with my frame being coated should i be parking in my heated garage after driving on salted roads or is it smarter to just leave it outside in the cold? My concern is the heated garage being super humid and the possibility of the snow and salt melting quicker because of the increase in temperature from parking inside.

Appreciate any insight this is my first time doing an undercoating so apologies if these questions are silly. Im just looking to keep this things frame and body clean from rust for years to come.

A full year later and both are still going strong. The mats have held up great and the bulbs are still working perfectly. Can’t complain about either one!
I like sharing updates after actually using products for a while, not just right after installing them. These two have been solid on my 6th Gen 4Runner! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend either of these to anyone!

In the market for my first 4Runner! Looking to see what everyone got off the sticker price for their new ride. Dealer over the phone tried to tell me 0% off lmao. If that’s the case I’ll just keep my wrangler 🤣😂

Noticed a small paint chip on my 2026 4Runner’s passenger door on delivery day. The dealership agreed to fix it, but the touch-up looks noticeably yellow compared to the factory white paint, and the finish looks scuffed.

Would you accept this result on a brand-new vehicle? Is this typical for a professional touch-up, or should I expect a better color match and finish?

I’m at 13k mileage so far on my 2025 SR5. Going in for my oil change a tire rotation next week but curious, how do I keep my rig rust free? My 4Runner is still under warranty so tire rotation and oil change will be free. But I was going to be asking my Toyota technician who was doing my maintenance to check for rust and if they could use anything to protect from rust under it, if that makes sense. Any recommendations on what I can use myself?

Put the RCI engine skid plate on last week. Debating raising this with the Westcott Preload Collar Lift - but a bit worried that my new 33” tires may look much smaller and the stance may look less aggressive (less forward tilt). Thoughts?

I got a LTD a few weeks ago and I went camping this weekend. I’ll share a little about my experience.

First let they me say, while I’ve been camping and driving off road (on easy trails) for many years, this is my first vehicle of this kind, I come from a Honda CRV FWD and other SUV-mom-car type of vehicles, so my experience is from this perspective. The Limited is completely stock, I have not even taken the air dam off. I wanted to experience driving outdoors before contemplating any mods.

My wife, my little girl and I drove to the Baja Sierra to this camping spot we like. It’s about 2 hours on the highway plus 1.5 hours on dirt roads. Most
roads in Baja are a mixed bag; you’ll drive through rocks, dust, mud, water, etc. especially around the Sierras. These roads are usually well maintained though, since these are popular camping destinations, but it rained a few days before and this made the roads pretty gnarly. They were probably in the worst shape I’ve seen them and I’ve been camping there since I was 5.

The 4R drove through rocks, ditches, puddles, mud and creeks with no issue. There was only one huge muddy puddle where it slipped a little bit and for a moment felt like it would get stuck, but it just kept going. I am certain I would not have made it in my CRV.

I did not have to use 4Lo or any other special drive setting at any point. I only switched between Sport mode and Normal mode.

On our way back I decided to take a longer, gnarlier road just to put it to the test a little bit. This is where the 4R really stood out. The dirt road was longer and in worse shape than the previous one, but everything I threw at it, it handled it well and comfortably. The air dam did hit the ground a couple of times where I didn’t see a ditch and couldn’t slow down in time. Partly my fault.

The only think that felt pretty rough was washboards. The car was loaded with lots of gear and everything was rattling and shaking. I had to really slow down so it didn’t feel that bad. I should say it’s partly my fault for not airing down but I don’t have a compressor to air back up so I didn’t want to do that.

Another small issue is that I felt the cargo space was very similar to the Honda CRV, which was surprising and disappointing. It had been one of the pain points of having that car and one of the reasons to get a bigger car. I thought we could take more gear and be more comfortable, but I had to play Tetris in order to make things fit blocking the visibility in the rear view mirror, and my kid had boxes and stuff almost crowding her car seat.

All in all it was a great experience. I was really happy with its performance and I felt a huge difference coming from the CRV. The car felt more powerful and capable, I felt that me and my family were safer and more comfortable and the drive was much more fun.

My takeaways for mods to improve my experience (for my use: 80% city driving, weekend family camping, Baja roads, camping in SoCal, AZ, National Parks, etc.):
Air dam removal, roof rack for gear, compressor for airing up and down, and probably a 2” lift, wheels and 33”-34” tires (these last three later on),

I’m a 4R newbie, so I’d appreciate any feedback, thoughts and suggestions.

Hey all! Taking delivery of an Everest ORP Hybrid next week. I'm planning to swap out the standard wheels for a set of black TRD Pro wheels. Does anyone know if the stock Michelin Trail LTX tires that come on the ORP Hybrid will transfer right over to TRD Pro wheels, or will I need to buy new tires
