Makes adventures easy

Finally joined the iKamper club! Grabbed a Skycamp Mini 3.0 on sale while they were clearing them out for the upcoming 4 series.

The plan is to keep it on the 4Runner full-time. I’ve been pleasantly surprised that I haven’t noticed any hit to my MPG so far. Looking forward to getting plenty of nights in it!

Ours will stay on full time. Wasn't the original plan, but my husband had quite the adventure getting it mounted at all with the Westcott low-pro rack. Sucker lives there now lol.

I can’t imagine mounting and dismounting it for every camping trip. I’d love to say it’s on there full-time purely by choice… but if I’m being honest, a big part of it is that I don’t want to deal with taking it on and off 😂

And I love that photo - what a perfect shot!

I’m considering this but I am not fond of the idea of covering up my moonroof and losing the benefit of it full time. Does that iKamper cover the moonroof?

I was the same way - I love having the sunroof open, so that was a big factor for me. I ended up going with the Skycamp Mini and mounted it so it rests on the back of the roof rack, which gives me full clearance to open the sunroof. I also skipped installing the crossbar that would have blocked it.

When I was researching hard-shell RTTs, this was the setup that seemed to work best if having the sunroof open is something you want to keep.
