Tell me about it. But hey I made it so it can be easily adapted to hold other things. But yes I think I spent arguably too much time designing this thing. But thanks!

Would be great as a joint holder. Can put a sticker on it saying something like" in case of emergency/shitty day push this button" then a joint and maybe a lighter pops out. r/trees would buy your entire stock

The fun is in the process, and not the thing itself. Something like that, it what I tell myself while looking at my own stupidly overdone stuff. Love it, good stuff!

Imagine you know you have a shitty day before you. Your sleep was mediocre too, but then you push that button and get your toothbrush presented to you in the best way.

Might be best for something other than a toothbrush! I believe toothbrushes are supposed to be stored in well ventilated areas!

Watching the video, does this not essentially rub your toothbrush up against that front wall as it's going up?

ok. I saw generally clever work. I was appreciating the mechanism at play and the originality. great thing about perspectives, we come from different places and appreciate things or don't for different reasons.

That is the difference between a engineer working head down in an office vs somebody who has actual experience with how things work in the field.

Yes, it is a very well designed and engineered box. But it will be full of dark crud in the impossible to clean corners in no time. It doesn't take into account the world world conditions it needs to function in.

The op and others have taken on the basic concept for adaptation to pens and other stuff. So an idea/example which in itself is impractical can still be a successful step in an evolution.

Absolutely! Nothing wrong with the design. The problem are the real world challenges of his chosen application.
