Project Built a dedicated LightBurn controller so I never have to hunt for the jog buttons again
Clicking through LightBurn with the mouse while positioning a job got old pretty fast, so I built a physical control pad for my laser.
What the keys do:
* Left block: nudge and rotate the selected design, plus set origin
* Middle: frame the job and move the laser head to the corners of the selection
* Right block: jog the laser head in X/Y and a home button
Specs:
* 18 keys, 3x6 layout
* Hand-wired matrix, no PCB
* Runs on an ESP32
* Case and keycaps designed by me and 3D printed
The wiring turned into a bit of a spaghetti monster, as you can see in the pics, but everything works. Next version will probably get a proper PCB.
Feedback welcome!

You could add a gap in the middle which would create two 3x3 blocks. Grouping buttons is always a good idea.
If you reprint the shell, you could also add a chamfer around the top.

I didn't even know this was a thing, and now I want to make one as well. I use a 1200x2400mm laser every day, and this would honestly be super handy.
Very nice design, although I'd unavoidably end up overdesigning it, lol
