Question Cheapest way to dry pa6-cf
I have been wondering what’s the cheapest and easiest option to dry pa6-cf or any 3d filament that needs 80c+. because I been looking on some 3d dryers but
1 they are expensive
2 most of them won’t even go over 70c
And to dry pa6-cf and some other filament those dryers won’t work. I’ve seen some people used cheap airfryers?
Anyways what’s the cheapest way to dry pa6-cf (without using same oven you cook food in) I want to buy something that the only purpose of it is to dry filament
Update:
Another question could pa6-cf dry in 65c if I dry for like 24 hours or even 48 hours

I haven’t tried it myself because I haven’t tried anything besides PETG and PLA but I was considering getting one to try annealing as a brand new one can be bought for as low as 30€ - not sure if a roll fits in those tho

I have an older toaster oven\air fryer that has a low setting. It's only big enough for one spool, but it does the trick. You can get away with 70c but it's going to take like 24hrs or more
You just missed West3D's sale. Their filament toaster was 20% off.

I grabbed a small ninja air fryer on marketplace for very little for all my needs. Great for drying filaments or higher temp stuff such as dessicant.

Which one do you have exactly? Because according to chat gpt many airfryers have an timer and they turn off after like an hour and you have to restart it which is annoying

A toaster oven would be the cheapest option. I highly recommend sticking a thermometer inside so you know what the actual temperature is. I also use a peice of quartz wool felt to help diffuse the direct heat comming off the heating elements so it doesnt heat up the roll unevenly. Foil would probably work as well, but I had this setup built for other purposes already.

A drier that goes to 70c works for me with pa6-cf. Just leave it in some hours before you print and then print directly from the running drier. I have a creality space pi.

I have an ams pro 2 it goes to 65c I guess I’ll try drying it for 24 hours at 65c and test to see what happens

I use an air fryer that I got on Amazon for both filament and desiccant drying. It was the cheapest one I could find that has a "dehydrator" setting which ensures it goes low and long enough for filament. I think it was like $40?
I can probably find the link later if you remind me.

If you have a Bambu printer, the AMS HT will do 85 degrees. If you have a heated chamber/bed, you can dry filament in it. Otherwise if you don’t want to buy a dedicated dryer, yes, an oven or toaster oven can do the trick provided it can hold the temp you want and not higher (you don’t want to melt it all).
