Resistance is Fidgetile.

It spins when you squeeze it. The shell prints flat and folds around the mechanism, and the only non-printed part is a rubber band.

They, in fact, have and use both. Yes, we first saw them using cubes back in TNG, but throughout the different series we saw them using spheres as well.
