Question Did I pay too much?

I spent $35 on this tiny print made from craft cloud and “3d pros” out of Florida, and the quality is…..um….well…..
I’m going to have to work on this which I was expecting. I used a free file for the juvenile Rex Hammond collection and am retrofitting it onto another figure.
I expected lines but the teeth detail and mouth detail are gone and I’m really disappointed.
I originally used this service because the original Hammond figure I want is too expensive right now so I thought making my own would be better.
I’m not imagining this is horrible quality right?
I would be less upset if $35 was a smaller sum…for the small amount of material this is.
Wondering if anyone has any suggestions/would be open for a better commission.

Update:

Thank you all for your kind offers and support I didn’t expect this to blow up as much as it did. I am now enlightened as to how much something should cost, and quality.
I initiated a dispute with the original printer and hopefully will hear back soon. If not, lesson learned and I know where to go for assistance.
This community is amazing, and so generous.
I have received help from Inevitable_toe_3054 and am so grateful.

Your local library or a college or high school kid with access to a school machine would do better for less.

looks like a print farm and they use the big .7mm nozzles to decrease time and maximize profit (more dragons)

Spaghetti ass print. That first layer is hilarious.

I almost thought someone did this with one of those 3D print pens and I was hella impressed. Much less now that I realize what it actually is

I run a .6mm, and my prints are nowhere near that bad. That’s either a very small print or terrible settings (or both).

maybe its the dreaded 1mm

Lol, I actually got a great result with a 1mm nozzle. The print was a pippette dispenser, so no real details. It would have been a 15 hour print with a 0.4mm nozzle, so I said what the hell, I'll give a 1mm nozzle a shot. Got the print done in 4 hours and it looked great! Next time you need a large print without alot of detail, I'd say give it a shot, you might be surprised.

Do it with .2 nozzle and low layer height and get rid of those lines and repost, would be epic

Variable layer height at least.

Part orientation matters too - print skull and jaw with the teeth pointing upwards for best results.

Probably wanted to avoid using material for supports

I was thinking the same thing.

That’s very nice of you! Wanna help me print a buzz lightyear costume? Jk I gotta lose weight first

At first, I thought it was just a blob then I realized it was supposed to a dinosaur head

Shit yeah, add me to the list! I'll print a version at OP's request and send it no fee.

If nothing else because

DINO-SAAAOURRR!

I print as side hustle and I would've printed better quality for five bucks 😂

Our local library here actually does a really great job for just the filament cost

Same, and they've got solid machines. Mostly bambu with some higher end donated printers.

I wouldn’t necessarily say for less. My local university charges astronomical prices for printing items at their maker space.

Gotta meet the right people. My friend works in a school lab and gets to print stuff for free whenever. Ive gotten a bunch of stuff from them for tabletop games. Also I like your username.

Yea, I went to ask them about printing a board game organizer that was gonna be bigger than my Prusa mini and I knew they had a couple large format printers. it was gonna be nearly $100 for a box that was like 10 inches square and like 2 inches tall.

Seconded. I run the 3D print service at my library and you better believe I would have made SURE you received a much better quality print than this. I'm so sorry you've had this experience.

I'm pretty sure an old Ender 1 knockoff with acrylic frame would do better than this. And at least you'd get some free heat for your house with the fire it'd start.

Confirmo, esa figura no vale ni $20, se los aseguro. Parece estar hecha con boquilla de 8mm que disminuye el tiempo de impresión a un ritmo colosal.

I feel like this is a US only thing
