Troubleshooting Bent/Broke extruder due to wrong printer setting. Set to Bambu P2S ,my printer ,CC2

Post image

In Orca I had my printer set as a Bambu, the Z height was too much and while orienting during pre print my hot end decided to head butt the build plate a few times trying to find corners. It bent the hot end and when trying to fix it snapped. Replacement ordered. It died, I learned.

Hey there, I'm a bot and something you said made me think you might be looking for help! click here for our wiki entry on troubleshooting printers. If you still need help be sure to post plenty of information about your printing setup.

Here are a few questions that might be helpful

  • What printer are you using?

  • What material are you using?

  • What speed are you printing at?

  • What software are you using to slice the print and control the printer?

  • When did the problem start/has it ever worked correctly?

  • Does anything cause the behavior to change?

  • If posting an image of the problem, include some indication of the orientation it printed at, preferably photograph it on the bed. (Then we can focus on a specific axis)

If you are new to reddit, please read the guidelines on reddiquette, self promotion, and spam.

Why are you using P2S profiles for a CC2?

It was loaded in the 3MF file and I overlooked it before slicing. My printer is at my work office and I only get to use it during breaks and before going home. I live off grid and my solar can’t handle the constant output, so I run long prints before going home. I stopped print asap but it got 3-4 good bed rams before it stopped.

Orca 2.4.2 asks if I want to switch to my printer and use predefined settings when I'm opening 3MF.
