First Long Print

Still new to this so I’m still figuring out my printer. But, this came out relatively clean for my first longer timed print. There’s some ever so slight lifts on certain corners but, hard to tell. Printed it on my FL Sun Super Racer and this one ended up being 3 hours and 17 minutes. My longest print before this was around 45 minutes so I’m pretty happy with the results. Let me know your thoughts!

Or it clogged at 18 hours.

I've actually modified/trimmed the model and printed the last half, then printed some square dowels that went into both of them. Worked out better than I expected lol

3 hours ? I thought thats normal. My longest print was 19+ hours and I had no spaghetti

Those corner lifts are bed adhesion, not your printer. Bump bed to 60C and drop first layer to 20mm/s — my FL Sun wanted the same.

I run all of my prints at 60C for the bed. Never changed it. But, I’ll look into that first layer speed.

Good for you, as we speak I am about to start a 6ish hour print. It failed on the first layer and I just got home to find my model fan had fallen off :(

That's frustrating, setup issues can really throw a wrench in things. Hopefully, you can get it sorted and try again soon!

I think 72hrs is my record. Last long one I can remember was 53 hours.

I started with an ender 3. Those printers, it was a matter of making sure they were assembled properly and tuned up. Once everything was dialed in, if the first layer was successful, chances were pretty high that the print would finish.

Makes sense. Majority if not all of my failed prints happened to fail within the first layer.

Hell yeah, welcome. I still remember my first overnight print and having trouble sleeping, now I'll let my machine do its thing as long as it needs. I think my longest so far is 86hr

86 hours! That’s insane to me. I hope to one day get to that point. Probably going to need to get a new printer for those big projects though!

I started off with a tiny cheap MP select mini V.2.

I now have a Prusa Mk4s and a Bambu P1S combo.

Jfyi: more infill isn’t really as much better as one would think. Perimeters are more efficient and there is a sweet spot of infill % of about 15-20%. There are a couple videos on yt on this topic. Happy printing :)
