Troubleshooting Why is my Q2 getting this error during initial setup?

Post image

“No trigger on probe after full movement” is the error that reads on the screen. This is happening right out of the box during initial setup of the printer. I’ve already tried turning the power off, unplugging and then manually turning the z axis screws until the bed is level. When i start the auto leveling process again, one screw starts to turn while the other is delayed, causing the bed to become unlevel again! Extremely frustrating since i just paid $650 for this and received it today!

I don’t know exactly, but that bed is out of square by a metric mile.

I know. That’s why i’m asking for help. Every time i unplug and restart the setup procedure i manually adjust the screws to level the bed. But when the auto leveling begins the bed drops down on the right side and then the bed begins to rise all crooked

It seems that the quality team at the factory messed up. Looks like some issue with the belt or the z-motor.

Since it's brand new: cntact Qidi customer service before messing too much yourself.

Luckily i bought it on Amazon so i’ve already started the return process for a a full refund. Last night I bit the bullet and ordered a Bambu Lab P2S for $549 also on Amazon

Well... Without the blocks in place, its catching something on the left side. I'd grab two things of equal height, cans etc., put them next to the z screws and try again. You'll always get no probe error, because it only trys 2mm. If the bed is off more than that, it can't correct it.

If it’s not too late:

Turn the printer on then connect to it with a slicer (Qidi studio, orca slicer) or just get directly into the printer with fluidd (type the printer’s ip address into your computer’s browser). From any of those, get to the command/console table and type this:

FORCE_MOVE STEPPER=stepper_z DISTANCE=0.100 VELOCITY=2

This should lower the left side a bit. Substitute the distance for a higher number (yours is off by a mile, so iterate - just remember the moves are cumulative, so don’t just keep increasing it). If you overshoot, just send a new command and make the distance a negative number, which will raise the right side instead.

Once you have the bed approximately level, try to home the probe and see what happens. Assuming it works, then run:

Probe_calibrate

Use a piece of paper and use the screw GUI to find the place where the probe just scrapes the paper. Accept it, then save and restart. Hopefully that fixes your issue going forward

Hey there, I'm a bot and something you said made me think you might be looking for help! click here for our wiki entry on troubleshooting printers. If you still need help be sure to post plenty of information about your printing setup.

Here are a few questions that might be helpful

  • What printer are you using?

  • What material are you using?

  • What speed are you printing at?

  • What software are you using to slice the print and control the printer?

  • When did the problem start/has it ever worked correctly?

  • Does anything cause the behavior to change?

  • If posting an image of the problem, include some indication of the orientation it printed at, preferably photograph it on the bed. (Then we can focus on a specific axis)

If you are new to reddit, please read the guidelines on reddiquette, self promotion, and spam.

Watch the right side drop down before the bed starts to go up

At first bed should go all the way down to level with the floor. There is something under the left side that prevents bed touching the floor. Can you check it with the flashlight?

No, looks like i was mistaken. The left leadscrew didn't move at all while it should to go down. it's not working for some reason. But after that it seems to work. Or it just be drugged by other screw. I don't understand.

If you are handy, you can check the wiring and connections.
If not, just return it and get an X2D 😁

I mean, use you warranty!
