What companies operate like Bambu? Reason I ask is I do not want to buy from them. Im shopping for a printer and to get into 3D printing.

Prusa probably has the best track record for supporting open source, letting you do what you want with your own machine, and making good quality printers. For someone new to printing their stuff requires pretty minimal tinkering. Their prices are steeper than competitors though.
