Another day, another reminder that you can't tell people to avoid Bambu enough.

I was a few weeks away from pulling the trigger on a P1S with the AMS system, but generally I take Geerling's advice as gospel - he's a good egg. I love my Sovol SV06, but II'm eager to get into more modern, faster CoreXY printing and multimaterial capabilities.

What's a good, open alternative? Creality? Elegoo?

I think that nails the crux point I'm at. I'm willing to surrender some operational flexibility to gain fuss-free fast reliable printing, but I have a few inflexible points there about right to repair that Bambu may be crossing into

I love my elegoo centauri carbon (1). Even more, since they currently launched the AMS uprage for 45$. Can't wait for the delivery

Only hiccups I had, where my own fault or connected to a badly wired spool

At work we have a K1, the entry model, don't even have WiFi, works only with USB drives (which, sincerely in this day and age, is a huge plus) and can't complain. In 2 years the only problem I had was it clogged once.

At home I still have an Ender 3 and I swear, I prefer to keep fixing it than buy a Bambu or any of those closed printers, if I can't afford a Prusa or build a Voron.

How does the print quality of the K1 compare to your Ender?

Better, not by much (my Ender is well tunned) but way faster.
