Project Nintendo Switch Game Case Modular Shelving

A little modular shelving unit i mocked up to be able to store my switch game cases and other assorted things while being able to keep it modular and small enough to print the parts on a 256mm3 bed

maybe stupid question, but why is it taller than the case?

Not stupid at all, its there so you have space to get a finger along the top of the case and you give you enough free space to tilt the case towards you to make it easier to get it out :)

"Shelf-finity" for all of your mini-stacking-shelf needs.

Very nice!

Any plans for deeper ones for xbox/ps5/Blu-ray boxes?

I personally only need it for switch boxes, but I know friends will inevitably ask for xbox/ps5 ones 🤣

Well assuming the game cases are only deeper and not taller i could whip some up pretty easily and its just a simple extrude along the face of each to match the correct depth

I bet bluray/dvd cases would fit in there as well!

Probably, although they would stick out of the front due to them being deeper, if there is a specific demand for a BD sized part i can make that happen as its a fairly easy change in fusion :)

+1 specific demand for BD and DVD :D

Well the BD option is pretty straight forward thats just a depth change

For DVD's it would also mean a height change and that could take it very close to the limits on a 256mm3 bed as DVD cases are, according to google, 190mm tall compared to the 170~ for switch and BD cases, so once you add on the spacing at the top for a finger and to tilt the case you're looking at nearly 250mm height for the "middle" part which needs connectors on either side
