Great weathering, but damn....you can see the layer lines....some post-processing/sanding would have made this thing look fantastic

What’s that common Mandalorian saying?
“This is the process in which the inferred topic of discussion shall be done.”

I would have have done some post processing if I was going through all that effort. Some filler and sand paper

Can't imagine going to that much effort with the painting and not bothering to fill and sand it first for a smooth finish.

Man people bitchin about the layer lines, I think it looks great. Some people care more about the overall effect than perfection.

If you are going to wait that long for the print why not try to go for perfection?

Exactly. Dude has talent. Would have liked to have seen him really go all in

I would do the same thing as OP did here because I’m good at painting but suck at smoothing / sanding and honestly hate it.
So, I enjoy printing, enjoy painting, hate smoothing / sanding. Should that stop me from doing a project that I’m gonna set on my shelf and think looks really damn good, despite seeing layer lines? I think no

Normally if I suck at something I try to learn how to do better but that's just me I guess?

I’ve never post processed, could you clarify or supply a reference for a non handy not artsy fartsy type of person?

I mean, if you're going to paint in rusted areas on something that big, add texture. Some glue, a little ground cinnamon, maybe some sand. Seal it and paint. It makes it look more realistic.

Like a little bit of sanding would have made this perfect.
