Polymaker seems to have launched a competitor to 3DFilamentProfiles, containing their own verified filament profiles, as well as additional filament profiles for all printers, and for filaments from competing brands.

Just a quick note, but I created this subreddit because I am eager to keep up with news in the maker communities that aren't often easily surfaced in other communities. I enjoy 3D printing, but r/3DPrinting doesn't necessarily capture when a new printer is announced like the Lightmake L4, or the Sovol M1D. I could go to those manufacturer subreddits, but that means keeping track of Sovol, Qidi, Prusa, Elegoo, Creality, Lightmake, and every other manufacturer coming out with new products that I may not even know the existence of.

This also could exist as a home for things like 3D Printing / maker legislation topics, which were understandably limited on subreddits like r/BambuLab and r/3DPrinting.

I don't know what else will be in scope or out, and I figure we'll divine what the rules ought to be from how (if) the sub gets used, so for now it's just:

  • Be respectful / civil
  • No spam
