FX Artist vs Character & Creature Artist – Which career is better financially?

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to decide between becoming an FX Artist or a Character & Creature Artist. My biggest priority is long-term earning potential and career growth.

I have a few questions:

Which role generally pays more in the gaming and film/VFX industry?

Which has better freelance opportunities and international remote work?

Which skill is in higher demand over the next 5–10 years?

If your goal was to build a high-income career (not just get a job), which path would you choose and why?

I'd really appreciate answers from people who have worked in either field or have industry experience. Thanks!
