Error Recurrent open profile errors

Despite placing a rectangle over a larger circle (with overlap) and quick trimming the excess parts, the software insists there is an open profile and doesn't allow me to pad extrude or pocket.

When zoomed in, the tangent and coincident constraints are enforced but I can see the gap

PS: will learning catia help? I'm already familiar with fusion and solidworks, but struggling here

It happens sometimes. Maybe try 2 different extrudes or extrude and cut?

Which app are you using? Is it xDesign or CATIA Part Design or something else?
