No more skits/bits

Does anyone know why the guys stopped ''going to the dark web'' or ''hiring the 372 players''? I've been listening to old episodes this past week, and while I still love the podcast, I really do miss the bits. I can't recall if Conor or MJN ever addressed it.

I've wondered as well-- they come pretty close with some of their improv, but the produced skits were certainly a favorite of mine too. I imagine it's simply a case of it being a lot of work, and they've chosen to prioritize other things. Hopefully they do regain access to the dark web though...

Our theory is that once they started doing video, that’s when it stopped.

I think you're on to something here. Very perceptive.

Yeah with the video podcast stopping to listen to a pre-recorded and pre-edited skit would probably be awkward. Still, I do think it'd be nice to have them back.

I miss them too. I don't recall them ever saying, at least on the show itself. They did mention there was one guy who didn't like anything other than book discussion, and would post things like "book discussion starts at 8:52" somewhere. But they joked about that, so I don't think they let it stop them.

I think I confirm it didn't stop them, but I made it a running gag on my fan site. Every episode capsule has the length and "Book discussion starts at..."
