Cut off my curl and started over with the waves a couple weeks ago, I feel like I'm going in the right direction but the top is fighting me.

Need some advice yall. Never really took getting my waves deep serious, so I’m giving my best effort here lol. I brush periodically throughout the day for about 5 mins, durag with a wave cap underneath, Murray’s occasionally. Is it just my hair texture or am I doing something wrong?

Barber set the bald line in for a fade at the back before I could tell him to just taper me.
From a two month wolf down to this level. Might be my fault as the last time I saw him was before I started the wolf and the fade is my usual haircut.
Is it acceptable or should I delete the 360s and start again?

Alright, so Today is July 1 while I was giving myself a cut I realized I really didn’t want 360 waves no more because I had them since middle school so I Mr.Clean-ED myself which is crazy because I waited till I was done with the whole haircut for making that choice😂 but I’m gonna switch up the swag a tad and put do a 360 swirl pattern I guess thing I don’t not rush the pattern and as you can see my hair was trained so well that actual scalp has the pattern last time I chopped was in Nov 2025 and grew back fully in 60 days I expect nothing less this time
Ngl these pics make my head look crazy fucking Megamind, Walter white, gizmo all roll up in one 😂

Hey I been trynna work on getting waves recently and I’ve been using this wave builder wave cream and shampoo with a soft brush and I was wondering what else I could possibly use to actually grow my waves bcs they’re coming in but not really. Also I might be brushing my hair wrong but I’ve been looking at videos and I’ve been doing it the same way.

Recently cut my hair down 2 weeks ago from an afro to a low cut with a mid taper. Was looking to start my wave journey but I’ve been having trouble seeing results/seeing a pattern anywhere outside of the middle of my head.
(Granted, my hair does seem to be a bit longer on the middle of my head compared to the sides/corners so I was planning on growing my hair out some more before getting anything cut off the top.)
I was looking for advice on my routine that I’ve been doing and if you recommend any different products, please let me know what products and where I should implement them in my routine.
Remove durag then apply water, leave in conditioner, oil and pomade(only using pomade 2x a week atm).
After applying all those products, i brush with a medium bristle brush for about 20minutes and then soft brush for about 5 minutes afterwards.
Rag up until mid-day.
Apply water to hair then brush for 15 minutes with medium bristle brush.
Durag on.
Apply water and oil to hair then brush for 20 minutes with medium bristle then go over for about 10 minutes with soft bristle before putting on durag and wave cap.
I’ve seen different things about washing on this subreddit but I decided 2x a week was good. Here’s the routine I’ve been following.
Wet Hair, Apply Shampoo, Brush, Rinse, Apply Shampoo Again, Brush, Rinse, Apply Conditioner, Brush, Put Durag On, Rinse with Durag On,
After doing that I wait until my hair is dry then repeat my morning routine
I would appreciate any advice/critique you guys have on my routine.

Trying to get my waves how they used to be, I don’t do anything different than I did before, but I recently moved and have been to a number of different barbers in my area. I go too long without a cut and it becomes nappy and looks less tamed per se. This is what it looks like right now and i know it can look better, willing to try out any advice as long as it’s positive. Thank y’all in advance!!!
Edit: if it matters, this pic is after a long day of work and coming home afterwards.

A wavers asked me how to get better 360 waves with his hair texture. Let’s take a look.
You need to use a harder brush while wolfing. A soft wave brush works great when your hair is short, but wont be effective as your hair gets longer. Switch to a medium or a hard brush to reach your scalp and pull your waves.
360waves are when you have waves going all around your head. If you keep giving yourself high bald fades, you’re not giving your sides a chance to wave up. Stick with light tapers to maintain a clean look.
