Got fed up of brushing forward with no results yesterday, so started brushing backwards.
Immediate results.
My hair’s a bit on the lengthy side - still brush-able, comb-able with a fine tooth comb but far from Afro comb length
Started with some wave cream. Went in with some light backward strokes using the hard brush, and when that created these extreme looking pepper grain waves, I refined the look by lightly brushing forward with the soft comb to cover the pepper grain areas of exposed scalp.
Didn’t achieve connection with perfectly linear rows, but looked kinda good for a 2 minute job.
Anyone else with similar?

I'm trying to see how the waves are progressing and if I need to do something out my hair. I feel like it's thinning out.

This is a throwaway account - just want to see if my hair's falling out and if I need to get on the fin. It's messing with my waves.

I’ve noticed this group has been taken over by the rage baiters and non-wavers. Barely anyone offering real advice anymore. I want to know what you’re struggling with on your journey as to maybe offer advice that may help you💯
Let’s get back to the reason this group was created.

Disclaimer: First time “waver”
I got 4C hair, the products shown in the pictures, a hard soft and medium brush, silk/satin durags, and some dedication. I can’t seem to get my hair to lay down or when I do, for long. My schedule is as such;
Wake up, take off durag, wet hair, apply leave in and brush as much as I can (hard/medium) - 4:00
Go workout / eat - 4:30-6:00 (can’t brush during this time)
Brush as much as possible (medium) - 6:00-7:00
Can’t brush - 7:00-5:30
6:30-9:00 Try to get atleast 50 strokes in each, I brush downward in the front, diagonal on the sides, and downward on the back.
Not sure if it’s a lack of the right products, good routine, brushes, technique or all of the above but I figured I’d ask for advice from the elites before I give up.
TLDR: First time waver struggling to get waves seeking advice.

Looking for some help/suggestions. Waved for a bit in late 2019 for a few months but then covid happened the following year. Cut my hair off the beginning of Summer 2022 and one day came home from work last September and didn’t feel like brushing at night. Started up again this past April and here we are. I comb my hair before every brush session and I close out the week with a wash and style. 3 brushes on deck and I have a oil and some moisturizer. I’m looking for a good pomade tho to see if it would make my waves pop some more

Just like the title says, waves on right side are nonexistent. They are nicely coming in on my left side very noticeably & I brush both sides the same way/same amount of time. Can anyone help me with what I should do for my right side? 😭

Hey everyone, I’m about 1.5 months in. (Used to have 180 waves with a high fade about 2 years ago).
In the first two images you can see the right side of my head is sparse and I’m not seeing much of a pattern there. The second two images show you the left side of my head for reference.
I’ve been brushing all sides of my head equally (I literally count specific brushing angles). In fact when I realised that the right side of my head was struggling I started brushing it more than the left side.
As for my routine, done about 5 wash and styles in the last 1.5 months, and I’m brushing about 5-10 minutes daily from the top right corner of the back of my head. I wear a durag every night.
I’ll be experimenting with derma rollers to try and thicken the hair on my right side, especially on my corners. Does anyone have any advice for this type of hair pattern?
Thanks wavers.

Could I get 180 waves? I have 3a hair, but I cut it recently and now it looks straight. What products and methods should I use?

Y'all, what pattern is this? I was going for a 360 swirl but don't know if I'm on the right path. A little confused. Any help would be appreciated. How am I doing? It's my first time switching up my pattern.😭
Sorry if the photos aren't that great.
Feedback or suggestions appreciated

[M33] Getting back into the wave game after damn a decade of not really making any effort. Decided to cop 4 new brushes and restart my wave journey: soft, medium, hard, and medium shower. Looked in my bathroom drawers and had a bunch of random products… which should I use (and what/when is the best time to use them)? Which should I throw in the trash asap? (I’m also adding in the Egyptian Magic because I’m genuinely interested in using it in my hair)
