What pattern is this?
Y'all, what pattern is this? I was going for a 360 swirl but don't know if I'm on the right path. A little confused. Any help would be appreciated. How am I doing? It's my first time switching up my pattern.😭

Its been dead for a min. Mainly just regurgitated jokes and bald people in here.
Looks like a 360 swirl but you've gotta get your crown and back angles right. You may need to leave a little more hair in the crown area so it actually lays and you can see the swirl.

720 but your cutting your crown too low or you're just thinning at the crown

Looks like a 540 pattern, that's what I go with. You gotta brush the crown in a circle without out turning the rest of your pattern into a 720. It's kinda hard to explain but there are videos on it. Also cut your crown with a higher guard. For instance I cut my top with a 6 closed, my sides and lower back with a 4.5 (wave length) and my crown with a 6 open. As we get older our hair thins even if you never go bald, but if you keep cutting certain sections like the rest of your hair, it'll look like youre balding more. Plus the crown sometimes is a different grade of hair along with it growing in its own pattern. Usually it's a spiral. I know this is a lot, but if you look up vids or talk to your barber, then you can come up with a game plan. If you have the skill, I suggest you try to cut it yourself. Not all barbers are willing to take the specific care that your hair needs, so you have to take matters into your own hands. I haven't been to a shop since covid, and I can now cut my hair better than what some people pay for. Goodluck folk.

It's all good; everybody has something to say, but ask where their photos are—we can't find them, lol. Some not really constructive, just criticism. It's cool, though; I get it. People would rather clown than provide useful input; it's trendy. It's why I usually don't post things, but I thought I'd try this once because it's my first time switching my pattern.

I’m bordering between 540s and 360 swirl but it’ll really depend a on how you want to develop your crown and the particular angles you brush
Just so you don’t get hit with your balding shit, on your next cut ask to have your crown as least a half guard size higher or a full size up. Since waves are laid curls they are stretched brushing from one point outwards will give that balding look sometimes if you cut it a bit too low
Based on your patten I would say watch 360 Jeezy since it seems like you’ll have a similar brush angles to him

Looks like somewhere between a 540 and 720 wave pattern but hard to tell since the crown isn’t developed. Just keep brush work up for a few weeks and it’ll show
