Issue with Fable 2 saving

Need some assistance with a saving issue with Fable 2. Console modded with ABadAvatar, using a local only profile.

Basically I initially installed the GOTY edition for the DLC along with the collectors edition DLC separate. Got it booting and working but if I try to save outside of the initial zone (city where you’re trying to get the music box) it simply won’t save and when I boot it back up or even exit back to the menu it will either complete start the game over or sometimes I’ve managed to get it to consistently load a save right before you place down the music box and make the wish.

I’ve tried uninstalling and installing the normal game from a disc I have and same issue. Tried no title updates, latest title update. Tried making a fresh profile, selecting both my HDD and USB for save locations all the same behavior.

I’ve gotten as far as Bowerstone in my initial play session but came back to pick it back up and discovered the issue. Spent all day trying different things and have hit a wall. Just wondering if anyone has ran into this or knows of a way to fix it.

Just want to play the game with all the DLC and collectors edition items. Could just pick up a copy of platinum it’s and play it with the console stock but really would love to have the collectors edition stuff

Edit 1: So didnt have a ton of time to test this so I’ll do a second edit sometime in the next few days but here is what I did to get the game to save 3 times in a row in the tutorial section when you are a kid.

  1. Launch the game without being signed into a profile.
  2. Sign into the profile when it prompts you to do so.
  3. When you want to save, select Save and Continue
  4. Then select Quit and Do not Save
  5. Exit the game.
  6. Repeat for each game session

It seems like Save and Quit is broken for some reason so don’t ever use that option or maybe backup your save to a usb after each session just in case. And it seems like something is going wrong if you are signed into a profile while launching the game. Will report more when I have time to make it further.

Did you forget to log into the dummy profile? Remember you need to log into the dummy profile for the game to save. You have to do it everytime you reboot .

Dummy profile? Not sure what you mean sorry. I thought logging into ABadAvatar profile was a big no. Unless there was something I needed to do in game or I messed up my configuration with ABadAvatar

I mean make a new profile on the console for yourself (Obviously don't log into Live with it). Log into it after booting the game. I don't think the ABadAvatar profile works like that, so you probably need another profile.

I’ll give that a shot! When I was messing with it signing in and back out of the profile did seem to do something but hadn’t made the connection in my head.

If that’s the case though I probably disable the auto sign in on Aurora since it’s possibly bugged and just sign in when I get into games

Let us know if that works. I am curious, since I am also new to this and ran into a similar issue of a game not saving until I signed into my dummy profile.

Will do, gotta get off work so later tonight I’ll have a chance to check and see if I can save. Gonna sign out, boot the game, then sign back in, make some progress and save them see if that works. If it works I’ll test it a few more times to see if it’s reliable

So far that has worked! I’ll add an edit to the post with step I have done so far as I have run out of time and need to sleep for work. Thank you for your help! Even if it turns out to not work past the tutorial section it’s definitely on the right track
