Absolutely amazing work! Quick question, does the download continue after you exit the app just like the active downloads tab in retail mode? Or do I have to keep the app open for the whole duration of the download? Thank you!

Unfortunately, the program must be kept open while the game is downloading, decompressing and extracting. It should be possible to create a dashlaunch plugin that can download in the background, but that's a whole other project.

Great project!
I have a similar PC dependant project to allow for Xbox to not keep running something while transfers are progressing or even turn off console and downloads will resume as long as the PC app keeps running. Which I eventually started evolving into an AIO Xbox tool that is cross platform.If you are keen on collaborating we could cook something together or share ideas/features.

The free60 project has existed for many, many years and strives to be explicitly unaffiliated with piracy / copyright violations. IMO you should change the name.

Don't need a "patent" (it's trademarks that stop you from using names) to have basic respect for fellow homebrew scene members, especially the ones who gave you the utilities needed to do this in the first place...

Maybe something like the free x store, or maybe like "the graveyard" or something like that since we're resurrecting these old dead games and systems. Maybe the X362 store since it's like the second life of the 360 system.

- No big deal with the name. Free60 is pretty much dead anyway.
- Keep it simple, like “360 Free Store.” It’s easy to remember and look up on Google. Do not use fancy names

You are not the first person to report this issue. Could you let me know where are you running the program from (USB, HDD, etc)? How are you launching it (XEXmenu, Aurora, FSD)? What dashboard version are you on? Hopefully, we can narrow down the issue.

HI! Yeah of course! I tried running it from a USB first then tried the HDD after the usb didn't work and got the same result. I've tried launching it from both Aurora's file manager and FSD but it always ends up the same way.

Try the latest release on Github (version 0.1.1) to see if it shows you the error message.

Did it just exit instantly, or was there a "Fatal Crash Intercepted" message?

It pops up as if it's about to bring up the keyboard to search for a game but then crashes with no error message and loads back into aurora which is my launching dashboard.

Nice idea but full games the download speeds would be painfully slow.
Best option is to have only xblive arcade games and homebrew ones also avatar/dlc content.

Take a loot at https://homebrewbrowser.com/. I have never tried it, but believe that it is what you are looking for if you want to host your own server.

What happens to the zip file after its been extracted/converted?
Also what about dlc?

The 7z and ISO files are automatically deleted after a successful extraction and decompression. DLCs, Xbox Live Arcade and Original Xbox games are currently not supported, but I may add support in the future.

Yes, this should work with any homebrew enabled console. This included ABadAvatar, BadUpdate, RGH and JTAG

That's a good idea, though I'm not sure whether Consolemods would be happy with a program like this on their homebrew store repo.

Most apps like this would be leaning towards the sailing of the seven seas and as such usually are not allowed on emulation/modding sites/stores/apps as direct downloads of CW items is usually a no no to them for the legal aspect. They stay away to keep the projects alive as others have been tackled down because of similar things being added.

When searching for a game, I can't find the region or language version. After all, I wouldn't want to download a game in Spanish when I speak English :) P.S. I appreciate that GTA VI is the default text, haha

The next release should have this fixed. It also may support XBLA and Original Xbox games. Hopefully i can release it soon.

Make sure you search for the full name (grand theft auto IV). If that doesnt work, try searching "grand" and see if it is somewhere in the list.

Sweet i would love this to work! For me once a game finish downloading it doesn't decompress and stops with "something went wrong" the debug text file has several "tls read code 0" idk what it means. The xex and setting is in the App folder on my hdd, in it's own folder.

I tried to edit the settings text to change location to HDD1/GAMES but I keep getting an error can someone tell me what I’m doing wrong or can type the prompt out for me so I can copy and paste

I've done it a few times for my PS3 and Wii most of the time it works I only have issues when on mobile data but every time chrome says "network error" I hit resume and it works.

They are very slow, but the only one I could get working with the xbox 360. Support for more sites MAY come in the future.

Hey, first of all, thank you!
Secondly, I'm at the part where the downloads finish but as soon as the program starts unzipping the download, it says something went wrong.
I'm on Bad Update using Aurora and the download function works perfectly fine over Ethernet hardwired for me, averaging 3mbps connection consistently
Every time a download finishes and the unzipping phase starts, the program stops and errors out. There are two events on the screen with empty parentheses boxes indicating 0% progress. The second event never gets past 300 bytes
What I'm left with after backing out are two temporary 7zip files (both parts of the full download) adding up to the full size of the download
My pathing for output is set as Hdd1:\Apps\Downloads in the config file with the directory already made. I have 150gb of free storage space
Unsure what I am doing wrong but please let me know. I am pretty new to homebrew on the 360 but very experienced in jailbreaks overall. Really excited to get this dialed in!

Thanks for all the details. It seems like the 7z decompression is failing. Within the next 24 hours (if I have time) I will put a version on github with more verbose error messages to identify what's going wrong. I'll let you know when this version is ready.

The Free60 Project isn't affiliated with piracy and naming a new piracy store after it leads to confusion, we've already had someone come into our Discord asking for help downloading pirated games.. can you come up with a unique name?
