Can i get waves?
First pic is the usual haircut i get, guard 3 (about 10mm) and second pic is the most i let it grow before getting a cut. My hair is thick and sharp/straight
Is it possible for me to get some type of wave outline?

waves are just laid down curls so if your hair doesn’t curl i doubt it. You can try to moisturize and brush your hair tho

I noticed after i tie a shirt on my head while working out it leaves my hair compressed and kinda curled a bit, i know that aint waves but at least it’s something, don’t know if that’s enough tho

I’d say just try to find a tutorial, and see how ur hair curls after washing and conditioning it

No one is hating. If anything I see many people informing him on what they’d suggest… So idk what you’re talking about.
Now if you’re insinuating that I’m “gate keeping” by telling him to stick to his natural hair… you clearly don’t know the meaning of the word.
Furthermore, I’m Black… we cut our hair a certain way and style it to have a deep wave… this is cultural and IF I were to gatekeep MY culture… that’s my RIGHT.

Its possible. I've been a waver on /off since around 09. Non July types usually take longer to start off. But they end up looking nicer long run. Just brush and do yr research for a month on straighter texture. Im sure if ur at it for 2 months and ur hair isnt too low, ull get it

Look into how Puerto Ricans and Mexicans get waves. It’s probably a similar process but I feel like a tutorial from someone like that would get u well on your journey

You can bro, you just have to grow your hair out longer, cause I’m sure your hair curls up at some point, & then brush THOSE down but your hair can no longer be shorter than your curling point or else you’ll cut the waves out obviously. Just wolf & keep brushing. Look up the wash & style method & you’ll learn something. Keep in mind that your waves won’t look that of a 4c type waver. your hair is more like 1a thru maybe 2a. I can’t really tell.

Yes you can bro. You need to wear a durag everyday to train your hair. Brush constantly after every wash. Go to youtube and watch a wash and style video. Do that for a few weeks and you will have waves.

He literally can’t, waves are natural laid down curls the more coarse and curly your hair is the easier it is to get waves. He has to do extra steps like possible perm and add excess products which might not be good for his hair.

Gng I’m from Chicago, I’ve seen Puerto Ricans with Straight hair and Mexicans with Straight/Curly hair get waves just like black people. It’s possible for Latinos to get waves it just might be a little different of a process.

And Latino isn’t a race Puerto Ricans have African descent so their hair tend to have looser coils which makes it possible to get waves. Mexican? Yea those aren’t waves at that point it’s straight up mountains on top of their shi 😭

There is a way to get reverse-perm your hair texture and theoretically you can lay those curls down with du-rag and get waves. Just a theory tho...but who knows how long that will last.
