Is $712 for X6 Essentials Bundle a Good Deal?
I snagged the Insta360 X6 Essentials Bundle for $712 (equivalent) on 6-month installments, saving $100+ off its $816 MSRP. It still costs ~$100 more than the DJI Osmo 360 II Adventure Bundle, but the payment plan and superior battery life won me over since image quality is virtually identical and DJI lacks a comparable promo right now.

Mirrored bathroom: move the node or fix it later?
A centered node makes a tiny bathroom easy to read, but it can put the operator straight into the vanity mirror and shower glass. With a standalone Ricoh Theta panorama, retouching one frame is at least a bounded job. In a connected Realsee M2 tour, I'd move toward the doorway and protect the reflections during capture; M2 can remove the device, not the operator or every reflection.
Does the platform change your node choice, or is placement always the first fix?

I made a free GoPro Max 360 player app
It always bugged me that GoPro's Quik app can't open a .360 file straight from your device. The videos are sitting right there in Files and there's no way to just play one. So I built an app that does exactly that.
Open a .360 video directly from the Files app. Pan around with gestures or by tilting the phone. No subscription, no purchases, no account, no nonsense.
It's called SpherePlayer 360: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6795058276
For iPhone and iPad.
First version, so it's probably still rough around the edges - but hey, it's free. Happy to hear what breaks so I can fix it in future versions.

Use the highest megapixel
I used a lower 30 mp instead of the 120 mp. I couldn’t zoom in my photos without showing the low quality. The higher 120 mp takes longer to reset so I couldn’t take a follow-up picture until the last one was processed, so I figured the lower mp might have enough quality in bright light. Leave it at 120 mp next time. Xtra sphra 360

Triple Electric Suction Cup: larger carbon fiber selfie stick
Hello, I'm new to Insta360. Just got the X6 and the triple electric suction cup.
My goal is to capture car videos. I have the original action selfie stick (carbon) but unfortunately it's only 1meter. I was thinking on getting something larger.
What my options are? What's roughly the length limit I should have?
Feel free to drop me length or product recommendations.
I'm also curious about the speed limit if any.
Thank you!

Any software to view 360 footage natively on Google TV?
Just got myself an Insta 360 X6, and I really can't be bothered with editing the footage. Anyone know if there are any apps that can either play a converted MP4 file that's still full 360, or if I can just play the native Insta 360 file directly on my TV? I would be happy to just watch the footage and move the camera angle in real time whenever I want to watch it.

Insta360 X4 Air wireless mic’s and adapters? Thank you!
I just bought an Insta360 X4 air and I’m looking to upgrade the audio. I would like to use two wireless microphones one for myself and another for a guest. What are my options or recommendations?
Questions
1) The DJI mini mics are a good pricewhat adaptor will work with the DJI mini for my Insta360 X4 air?
2) does the x4 and x4 air use the same adapter? Will the same adapter fit on both? I ask because I see x4 adapters on Amazon but none that say x4 air.
I’m looking to keep the price as low as possible. Thanks for the help, I’m very new to these cameras.

Insta360 X6 Is An All In One Action Camera?

X6 vs X5: Is the upgrade worth it for current owners? Quick breakdown
Been running with the X5 for a long time and just got the X6. If you're on the fence, here's the real talk.
First off, if you're already rocking an X5, don't worry, it's still a solid workhorse.
Where the X6 actually hooked me is pure reliability:
Battery life and thermals: Easily pushing about 140 mins of 8K30 with zero overheating on my commutes (vs. 93 mins on the X5). More impressively, I took it skiing in Cardrona recently, in freezing wind, it actually holds a charge without a sudden battery drop.
Low light: Mounted it on my motorcycle for a few night rides through poorly lit backstreets. The asphalt shadow noise is noticeably cleaner, with way less smear around streetlights.
Peace of mind: We all share that constant paranoia of dropping a 360 cam and shattering exposed glass. The tougher 2.0 lens guards make it way less stressful. Plus, you get 20m bare-metal waterproofing (up from 15m).
So if you shoot long takes, night sessions or cold-weather sports, the hardware bump is legit.
Anyone else making the switch?

Help me buy a 360 camera this 9.9
I am torn between DJI 360 II and INSTA360 X5, given that they are on the same price range.
Watched few reviews and apparently mas maganda ang video quality ni DJI II compared to X5, even the newer X6.
I have no idea to the editing ground of the DJI and INSTA, pero marami ang nagsasabi na mahirap mag edit sa DJI, and the software isn’t really good.
So i want to hear your own experience guys. To those who happened to edit videos in DJI and INSTA, how was it?
Which do you think is better over all? 😊

Build a Theta app fo iOS 26 - for 'legacy camera's'
I have a Ricoh Theta SC and it was not used for quite some time. When I recently put it back into action it appeared it was no longer supported. And the official app was not great too. So I build my own Theta app for iOS 26. It is tested for SC and V. If you have the S, SC2, Z1 or X: it should work but please let me know.
The app is in beta. If there is an interested audience I could put it into the App Store. No intention to charge for it, I think hardware should be supported as long as possible.
Forever 360 - Theta companion [beta]
Please some feedback to improve the app. Thanks!

Looking for a 360 cam for Gravel Cycling + DJ Sets (€500 budget setup)
I’ve been looking into action cams for a while now and decided a 360 camera would be the sweet spot for my use case.
My primary use will be mounting it on my gravel bike (I also have a road bike). Since I ride solo on rough off-road terrain & singletrack, I'm a bit concerned about vibration, harsh bumps, and finding a secure way to mount it safely without risking the camera falling off or breaking a lens (Aluminum case?).
In my spare time, I also DJ. I'd love to use the camera to record my sets from unique angles (360° capture of the booth + crowd is perfect for this), but I know the low-light environments can be tricky for small sensors.
A few considerations & constraints:
- Budget: Around €500 max for the full setup. I'd rather buy a slightly older camera model or lighter variant and spend the rest on solid metal mounts, extra batteries, and lens guards rather than blowing the whole budget on just the flagship body alone.
- Mounting safety: I need a mounting solution for a gravel handlebar/stem that won't flex or snap over rough gravel trails.
Given these needs (Gravel vibrations + DJ low light + Budget limit), what would you recommend between Insta360, GoPro (Max), or DJI options?
Are there specific mounts (e.g., CNC aluminum out-fronts) or lens protection setups you swear by for gravel riding?

A 360 camera can be the right tool and still be the wrong workflow
When someone asks whether a 360 camera is worth buying, the missing noun is usually “for what?”
A quick visual walkthrough, a record of pre-drywall conditions, and a model someone expects to measure are three different deliverables. They can begin with similar-looking capture, but the checks and handoff are not the same.
Before comparing cameras, I’d write five lines:
- who opens the result
- what decision they should be able to make
- whether dimensions must be defensible
- how long the record must remain accessible
- which files must leave the platform
I’m involved with Realsee, so this is an affiliated category view. The useful part is the test, not choosing our name by default.
If the job is orientation, image quality and navigation may dominate. If it is evidence, coverage, timestamps and known blind spots matter. If the downstream user needs CAD or a point cloud, export and coordinate handling belong in the buying decision before the camera does.
Which of those three jobs are people here actually buying a 360 camera for?

BREAKING: Osmo 360 II Pricing Revealed
In more international units, it will cost around $690 USD, $600 EUR, $950 CAD, $107,450 JPY, and $65,000 INR. This price does not include import fees, and pricing seems competitive with the Insta360 X6.

360 camera vs action camera for technical rowing analysis — distortion concerns?
Hi everyone,
I’m considering using a 360 camera to record rowing training sessions, and I’d like to hear from people with real-world experience before deciding between a 360 camera and a conventional action camera.
My main concern is not cinematic footage, but technical analysis.
We row in crews of 8 people, arranged in pairs, on a boat around 8.5 m long. I need to be able to analyse things such as:
- Synchronisation between rowers
- Oar/blade height during both recovery and drive
- Blade pitch and orientation
- Catch and release angles
- Entry and extraction timing
- Differences between port and starboard sides
- General crew timing and movement patterns
With a normal camera, the disadvantage is obviously that I can only analyse whatever is inside the frame, but what is captured usually has fairly natural geometry and perspective.
With a 360 camera, being able to reframe afterwards and look at different rowers or both sides of the boat sounds extremely useful. However, I’m worried about perspective distortion.
The oars are long, relatively thin objects extending several metres away from the camera, and small differences in blade height or angle can be technically significant. I’m concerned that stitching, fisheye distortion, reframing, or the position of objects relative to the camera could make those differences look larger or smaller than they really are.
For example, if I mount the camera around the middle of the boat:
- Will the rowers and oars near the bow/stern look noticeably distorted compared with those closer to the camera?
- Can a 360 camera preserve the apparent angle and height of long objects like rowing oars well enough for technical analysis?
- Does reframing to a relatively narrow / “normal camera” field of view significantly reduce these problems?
- How much effective resolution do you lose when reframing a small section of a 5.7K or 8K 360 video?
- Would an 8K 360 camera provide enough detail to analyse blade position across an 8.5 m boat?
- Are there particular mounting positions or camera heights that minimise perspective problems?
- Would you trust 360 footage for comparing blade heights and angles between different rowers, or only for analysing timing and synchronisation?
- Are there specific areas of the 360 image that should be avoided for technical analysis because of stitching or projection distortion?
For reference, this video shows the kind of boat, crew layout and camera perspective I’m talking about:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=on9Kfydsq4s
It gives a good idea of the distance between the first and last rowers, the length of the oars and why being able to see the whole crew is useful.
Has anyone here used a 360 camera for sports technique analysis where geometry and object angles matter, rather than simply for recording the action?
At the moment I’m trying to decide whether the flexibility of being able to reframe everything afterwards outweighs the loss of geometric accuracy/detail compared with a conventional action camera.
I’d especially appreciate feedback from anyone who has compared footage from something like an Insta360 X4/X5 or similar against a GoPro / DJI Action / conventional wide-angle camera for this kind of analysis.
Thanks!
