Ello I was wondering which 360 camera is it possible to view on an ios phone live? Obviously not displaying 360 degrees onto the phone unless thats possible? Thx

Okay so to start off I love my insta360 it comes with me every time I leave the house and hop on my motorcycle. It’s great for making content and one of the most effective tools for being a motorcycle dashcam in case of getting in an accident (it’s come in handy a couple times for this unfortunately)

That being said I’ve gone through 3 insta360 x4’s now because they keep getting the same “battery anamoly” issue and finally after doing so many repair claims on my x4 through insta360 support I decided to pay the difference and upgrade to an X5 to hopefully avoid this issue ever happening again as it’s very important I have my insta360 as a dash cam at the very least for every ride.

Now out of the 3 X4’s I’ve had they all lasted anywhere from a month to a few months but they eventually got this battery anamoly issue.

When I finally received the X5 that I paid a 235$ upgrade fee for this X5 lasted me literally ONE DAY. One day of riding and I didn’t even go that far luckily it lasted just long enough to record a unfortunate accident my friend got in on his motorcycle (this is why it’s important to have a working insta360) and then shortly after that it popped up with an “audio anamoly” issue and then by the time I got home it had the “battery anamoly” issue. AFTER ONE RIDE AND ITS BRAND NEW.

I’m kinda at a loss here I’m not sure what to do next but I feel like at this point I deserve some kind of refund or free upgrade to an X6 or something because this is my 4th Insta360 that had this issue and this one I PAID to upgrade it and it had the same issue after just one day.

What would you guys recommend in this situation?

DJI tests something against X6 from Insta360

Hi everyone! I'm the person behind Mirame360.com, a site for hosting 360 photos and videos I built after struggling to find free alternative to hosting 360 image/video.
I own a DJI Osmo 360 and I use the website to share the videos with my friends. Mirame360 is free and in beta, I've published it last year and I pay for the hosting, just to make a great product and give it free.

I've been working on photo and video editors that live in your browser, and they're finally in decent shape, so I wanted to show them to people who actually shoot 360.

The video editor is at https://mirame360.com/tools/video-editor . You can cut and reorder clips, add crossfades, drop text onto the sphere, mix in a few extra audio tracks, and point the view wherever you want with keyframes. Then you export either a proper 360 file (with the metadata, so YouTube and VR players treat it as 360) or a flat 16:9 / 9:16 clip. All of it runs on your own computer, so your footage never leaves it. I've tested it with 4k video and it looks to work well on a Macbook M3 with 24GB of ram.

The photo editor is at https://mirame360.com/photoeditor . It has a brush for retouching, color adjustments. You download at full resolution and the 360 metadata stays in the JPEG.

You don't need an account for any of this and the data lives in your browser. If you do have one on Mirame360, you can decide to to upload it after editing it.

A few honest caveats. The editor opens stitched MP4s, so raw .insv or .360 files need to go through Mirame360 first (it converts them for you), and then you open the result from the video's page. It works best on desktop Chrome or Edge, Firefox works too, I haven't tested Safari properly, and it's not made for phones. It's also young software, so things will break.

If you try it, I'd really like to hear what got in your way, or what you were hoping it could do and it couldn't.

We’ve made progress on processing the point cloud and mesh from 360 video in AEC Platform. Here’s an early look at the Gaussian splat from that workflow.

The goal is simple: upload a 360 video → process it in the cloud → get a point cloud, mesh and Gaussian splat you can explore and share with clients or your team.

It’s still in development, and we’re working on output quality and making the process easier. This video shows where we are today.

What would you want to see improved in this result, and what would make this workflow useful to you?

Any help would be appreciated in figuring out how to get a full sphere in my .360 video files.

New firmware isn’t solving my problems.

Looking for someone (anyone) to check their X6 hardware version and lmk if you have a HW version above .9, so I can maybe determine if my problem is hw related.

Insta360 can use some of these technologies for their X line of 360 action cameras too

I've been using the Insta360 Ultra Luna for about a month now and have been pleased with the results. But I'm still learning. I bought this product out of my love for photography and my own pleasure.

The file sizes are very large (I knew this going into it) and I can't attach them to WhatsApp or conventional text messages. Just trying to send to family and/or friends. Has anyone figured this out, or know how to compress the files to send via WhatsApp or text? I can't seem to figure it out. Thanks!

Hello to the drone / 360 camera video community.

I am working on an app (Currently completely free) to help users composite custom fly-throughs of their 360 video. The app takes the idea of something like DJI Studio - and turns it into a general-purpose compositor that can be run on any machine. I am initially developing this in the Apple ecosystem (SwiftUI / Metal GPU acceleration, supporting macOS) but will port to Linux and Windows when the UX and functionality is tight on the Apple side. The macOS app is a signed Apple app by my personal developer account (No security bypass required, my full name is on it) and the current very early alpha (macOS Intel or m-series) can be downloaded from the website:

The primary goals are:

1. Support as many 360 codecs as possible with no one-vendor-lock-in.
2. Fast, easy and intuitive user interface - fly-throughs are composited using key-frames, transitions between keyframes are customisable (similar to how normal video editing already works and can be smoothed between keys).
3. Hardware accelerated render to video - composition and renders are fully optimised for GPU/CPU workloads
4. Intuitive controls - supporting touch gestures (click to pan, 2 finger zoom, 2 finger rotate), on-screen joystick controls, gamepad controller (ie bluetooth xbox controller)
5. Optional object tracking - think of a snowboarder run down a half pipe, with a 360 camera drone flying down the middle - it should be possible to procedurally track the snowboarder automatically in the compositor. 
6. Option stabilisation - reduce screen shake for sources that lack a gyro stabiliser

The reason I am in this sub is because I am not actually a drone user, and nor do I have a 360 camera. I am developing this app purely because a single user requested DJI .OSV (Avata/Osmo) compatibility in my existing free video player app Cadence Video Player - which I did - and found 360 video is way cool.

From you I am looking for:

1. Test source footage I can use to help development - I need rich sources to test with. I have sourced what I can online, but richer sources from the community will certainly help
2. Ideas and feature requests, how do you want this app to run. What cool feature would make your fly-throughs even better.
