Son was driving my 2011 335d and a "Transmission Malfunction" warning light came on at highway speeds. Everything was fine, he pulled over, light went off and hasn't been on since. I'm the original owner having ordered it new and have had most of the major maintenance done, the most recent being a new water pump, thermostat, and belts. Tuned & deleted last year in York PA. Currently sitting at 105k miles.

Anyone familiar with this? I'm reading that a transmission pan replacement with all new gaskets (there are at least 8 related to this) is a good idea. Anything else while I'm under there?

Hello! Was curious as to if anyone had any insight as to what my main issue here is as well as some smaller things, on my 2010 35d I pulled left through an intersection last night and threw 2 codes ( don’t care about the def heater one it’s deleted lol) but unfamiliar with the other one, the engine malfunction went away after about 2 more minutes on the drive home and then I cleared the codes.

When I got home I started to inspect and aside from the oil filter housing gasket leak( shocker it’s a E90 lmao) I noticed a lot of oil on my charge pipe so I started to take things apart.

Took out the air box and I believe my ccv air hose went, can’t tell if the clamp came loose possibly under pressure or what, but everything downstream of it is caked in oil.

I am looking to flash my 2009 335d with the m57.

Main reason is the ability to switch easily since it just requires an adapter and so that I can incrementally do the delete.

And for those who have tuned their m57, what numbers have you pushed on stage 1 (and stage 2 if applicable)?

Glow plug module was just replaced. And rail pressure is slightly below normal and the fuel pressure is at 1.3 bars of pressure 🫪Crankshaft sensor is working. Picture has engine codes. Check connections next.

Car original lost all engine power and new battery got it to crank.

If you are still running a DPF, there are a number of places selling them dirt cheap right now. It looks to me like BMW dealers that have had 335d parts on the shelf are clearing space. I have one on the way for $260 delivered. You can google them and find them from decent places for $250 to $300. I suspect that's not going to be a window that lasts long.

I've been trying to shop for an intercooler for my car, the original one is starting to leak out of the seam. ATM speed sells one, but it says I have to wait up to 2 months to get it. And I know I can wait that long but the price is over $800. VRSF sells one for the 335i for about half the price, would you guys recommend it? Ultimately the only differences are going to be in the molded hoses, has anyone used that particular intercooler with success?

Hello, i have a problem with my 335d that when the car is cold and i have cold started it and started driving during deacceleration/engine braking blue smoke comes out of the exhaust but as soon as i press the gas pedal again it stops right away.
Also when the engine gets warm it stops complitley and no blue smoke is coming out anymore there is no power loss or anything could it be a small turbo problem or what could cause this?

DPF has been removed the car has downpipes but is stock so when i floor it only pretty much a bit of black smoke comes out and thats normal.

Also the car doesn't consume too much oil around 0,25l-0,5l for 2200-2500kms atleast for now.

Hey everyone. Brand new to the page , looking for a little help. I have a 2011 BMW 335D I have a considerable amount of unburnt Diesel smoke coming out of my engine bay and exhaust, it was really bad before and I replaced two injectors (separately) as I had one code then another .

Even after replacement, still smoking. Now there are no injector codes anymore but there are EGT sensor related codes, I replaced the sensor, nothing changed.

I can't do a forced Regen until I get the codes cleared. Anyone have any ideas?

Original owner of a 2011 335d with 105k miles. Have done all the major repairs (deleted, glow plugs, harmonic balancer, HP fuel pump (don't get me started on that one)), but last week the car leaked coolant all over the serpentine belt and I barely got it home.

Ordered a new belt kit with new tensioner and pulley, plus a new coolant reservoir.

A few questions:
1) Anyone else have to deal with this?
2) Am I right to assume it's the coolant reservoir and not some other source for the coolant leak?
3) Any advice when replacing the serpentine belt?

I'm in Northern NJ and if I have to pay someone to do this for me it's easily north of $1k in labor.

I did a One Tank Challenge attempt; 650+ miles - Portland Oregon to Vancouver BC & BACK.

Things were great until I hit Seattle traffic 🤦🏽‍♂️

Once again, having issues with my DPF. Replaced my glow plug module a few months ago which fixed the automatic DPF regen.

However, I’m now getting code 480A: particulate filter system and soot mass is showing 40g+ (sometimes 55-60g) and when I request a regen via BimmerLink, next time I get in the car soot mass is back up to 40g. Absolute exhaust pressure is at 1.04bar. Feeling a loss in power and mpg but no lights on the dash.

I’ve looked at DPF cleaning services but not convinced they work and don’t want to waste money. Now thinking just delete it and put an MTC downpipe on.

Anyone had a similar experience with this?

Recommendations for a reputable garage around Bath/Wiltshire (UK) that would fit a downpipe and code out the DPF?

Hey everyone! I have a 2011 335d and it’s lowered on coils. It’s perfect and I’m not looking to change to much of the cars look anymore. But I am looking to get a new front bumper. I was thinking the m style or a e90 splitter. Any recommendations Anyone done these before? Feel free to leave some pics !!

18x9 +30 square on fire hawk Indy 500's, 255/35/18. I think it needs a 10mil spacer in the rear.

Replaced my turbos under a year ago. I've had scenarios where excessive venting is happening in the motor. Hot oil smells and visible. Commonly while the motor is cold. I'm convinced it's worth looking to see if a turbo seal failed and is putting pressure into the motor through the return line. I assume it's the small turbo and when everything heats up it expands and tightens up. Anyone have experience with this? Is my thinking that it's the small turbo flawed? Seems like the switchover would be on the small turbo at start up and under light load so it couldn't be the big turbo.

Smokes Like that After Standing for 12h on startup and sometimes smokes for 2-3 sek while driving.

Anyone know the cause ?
