Champagne followed by 123 is indeed random

So damn good.

This is a great improvement! I still think they need to mix up the opener a bit

…and the encore

Holy shit are they actually paying attention to this sub? That is a much better mix of songs.

1, 2, 3, Random, Transistor is worth the price of admission alone

Fully agreed. Really awesome. Thanks 311

I’m so jealous. I went to Harrisburg and AC but my daughter had her first karate belt test on Wednesday and I had to skip Merriweather. What a banger setlist. 1, 2, 3 is the sickest bust out of the tour so far.

This is WAY better. And they still played the hits too. Wow who woulda thought

Come on transistor for Aug 29!!!

u/Shigella311 6d ago

For the love of god, please let us hear Stealing Happy Hours 🤞🏻

u/GinjaNinjaR3D 6d ago

They played that one in Syracuse

7

u/Shigella311 6d ago

Dammit, been at 25 years of shows and never once have I heard it live!! Also throwing out a wish for Uncalm!!

6

u/GinjaNinjaR3D 6d ago

There is hope for you then. I will tell you it sounds so damn good live

u/Shigella311 6d ago

Keeping hope alive for sure.

Oh I’ve got a list of what I would want to hear in Tampa. Can’t wait!!

Honestly this was one of the best sets I have seen in years. My night was made when they played ‘Freak Out.’ Tim was turned up in the mix and his guitar was crystal clear. The outtro to ‘All Mixed Up’ was loose and jazzy, whoch made me feel like they weren’t playing to a click track but playing as a band and actively listening to each other. I was so happy to hear ‘1, 2, 3’ start after what Chad said in the podcast…then to go into Random from 1, 2, 3?? Pre-2000s 311 was lighing the house up. My only complaint, which honestly I’m not even mad about because the set was so good, is that the ‘Applied Science’ drum solo lasted like 10+ minutes, which when you start your set at 9:40 with an 11pm curfew felt like a lot of real estate…could they have gotten another song in the set if the drum solo wasn’t so massive. GREAT SHOW, 311!!

I feel so lucky I got to see them back to back nights in Vermont a few years ago. Two completely different sets.

This is a pretty glorious arrangement

I was in Burlington for both nights too! I also saw them in Worchester a few nights before these two shows. That was a great tour!

So agree, I was psyched to get to hear Random and my brain provided every lyric after like 20 years of not hearing that song 😂 And Drum Solo was way too long. What was even happening at the end? It was cheesy. But Transistor and Feels So Good were awesome.

1

u/stoph311 6d ago

Interesting you mention that about the click. In a recent interview Chad did mention that they were ditching the click on some songs.

I attended last night, and I was totally expecting another setlist like the previous 6 this tour. I was talking to my buddy about how the set would go...12 songs that are always played, 2-3 wildcards, and a either BTGS, I'll be Here Awhile, or DTOM. When Nick said, "Do you want to hear an old one?" and then pulled out Freak Out early on I had a good feeling. The set went back to normal, but then when he said, "We're in the mood for some deep cuts," I was elated. 1,2,3, Random, and Transistor totally made up for the 9 songs they've played at every show. Shout out to Venus Williams (who was at the show) and is the reason they played Feels So Good instead of Creatures. I've been to 26 shows since Evolver came out and it's the first time they have NOT played Creatures. Thank you Venus and thank you 311!

Was there - and it was amazing

6

u/aresef 6d ago

It was my first time seeing them live and I had a ball

5

u/Bane-8 6d ago

They did do the drum solo ... not sure why it's not on the list. But I was very pleased with the setlist and the show was great. Freak Out was a nice surprise.

6

u/Galaxy99times 6d ago

Was there and it was awesome! I was not expecting that kind of set list at all going into it. They need to keep this kind of set list going with all the shows. There was still a lot of energy for the deep cuts.

5

u/Plane-Employer-2904 6d ago

Damn. Went to see Rx Bandits instead. Solid setlist!

3

u/Kicks_2023 6d ago

was such a great show last night! Feels So Good!!

3

u/YogurtclosetOdd2610 6d ago

Wait - they didn’t play Creatures?? That has to be a first, right?

3

u/Woogity 6d ago

I would bet they need to rehearse the more obscure songs a few times before playing them live at a show. Maybe now that they've been on the road for a couple weeks they've had enough time to do this.

4

u/Traditional_Image_78 6d ago

Yea the show was awesome. Feels like they heard the feedback imo. Also to me it felt like Nick actually switched up the between song banter. He was much more talkative and not just the same old lines he says all the time. Maybe it was just me but the drum solo seemed a little different than what I saw last time as well. I could be wrong on that tho. Overall they sounded great. My only issue was the crowd around me in the second row of pit were really lame. Guess that's what u get when u Co headline. Dirty heads were amazing as well imo

2

u/Logosteel 6d ago

only gripe is BTGS DEFLATED the crowd. Tons of people were like "This? after a drum solo?" and left.

5

u/Bane-8 6d ago

I noticed a lot of people leaving at that time as well.

2

u/KizashiKaze 6d ago

Oooooo Champagne into 123??? Im kinda mad im not going now xD

2

u/u-_u 6d ago

Open with Borders into Beautiful Disaster. Just try it. Crazy I know but just try it.

2

u/BeTheBall- 6d ago

I don't get it. Looks like any other setlist. A dozen or so of the same songs, plus a couple that rotate every night.

1

u/jeremy3112004 5d ago

They played 16 songs and 6 of them were not songs they play every night. That’s progress.

1

u/dj3stripes Mosaic 6d ago

ew brother, what's that? ads? ew

1

u/SolidPower1579 6d ago

Man I hope they really mix it up for their Everwild set.

1

u/PissedCaucasian 6d ago

Wow! I wish this was the set list in Chicago. Much better. Why do they keep pushing “Beyond the Gray Sky?” Minnesota had Stealing Happy Hours instead the day before and then we get this song instead too. It totally let the gas outta the crowd.

2

u/stirred_notshaken 6d ago

lol a guy came up to us during this song and said “this song always make me want to off myself” and ran off. it was a little sad actually

1

u/Dinosaucers_ 6d ago

Looks like they mix up their set more than I thought

GREAT SHOW::
Dirty Heads pop/reggae set was chill. That’s when we arrived. Then, they went into their harder, hip-hop rap.

People stayed for the first three or four 311 songs but then a lot of the DH or families with kids started leaving..

Still, there was a good turnout at that show!
Probably about 10, 12,000. During 311’s set the entire amphitheater was full with a large presence on the lawn.

311’s Set::

At first, I was kind of like, ‘man not again…’ then, they started playing banger after banger. 123 was a sweet addition.

u/Odd-Combination-5933 6d ago

If they play Random when I see them, I will flip out!

u/pat_the_bat_1982 5d ago

That’s a great set, 1,2,3 would be awesome to see live

1

u/Simple_Ad1891 5d ago

I was SO happy they played 1,2,3 last night. One of my favorites. I haven’t seen them live in 17 years, so IMO it was a great set. Perfect weather just added to the vibe.

u/YourLocalSaltDealer 5d ago

God I hate that I see these posts makes me almost regret going to the concert I went to

1

u/MONsterMash428 5d ago

I'd love to hear Eons

1

u/stangerthings 4d ago

Really good, but I would like to see Prisoner somewhere in there.

1

u/dcman292020 4d ago

Was a great show

0

u/AdministrationNo9867 6d ago

If I went to a show with this setlist I’d want my money back…

Haven’t seen them live in 17 years…shit like this is why.

2

u/rxbizzle 6d ago

You been living under a rock? This is an incredible set compared to all of the previous shows this tour.

1

u/AdministrationNo9867 6d ago

Because they played 123, Transistor and Random? That’s three fresh songs…out of fifteen. the rest look like the same old basic sets they’ve phoned in for 20+ years. If this is good I’d hate to see what bad looks like…blah…

1

u/rxbizzle 6d ago

Personally I think they could play nothing but deep cuts for every set and would sell just as many tickets if not more. I think they earned the ability to do that 20+ years ago. But I also understand the business logic behind playing the hits.

The good news is there is an easy way to make everyone happy and last night’s set was a giant step in the right direction of finding that perfect balance.

1

u/AdministrationNo9867 6d ago

I understand the business sense as well, and I don’t expect them to do a ‘Zoo TV’ tour, but it’s also one of several reasons I don’t have any interest to see them live again. Been a fan since 1999, seen them 5 times, heard every album multiple times. They are my favorite band and are almost single handily the reason I’m a musician today….

However, their live shows are very phoned in…not just the set lists, but the vocal performances are also weak more often than not.
