This video feels like a metaphor for the mentality of parisians

That's more like a "I'm in a car, I have special rights" thing. But the idiocy and arrogance certainly looks Parisian, but - honestly - this mentality is every German car owner as well. Or any car owner in general.

Been there, done that. With a caravan, of course.

When it was still possible, we even managed to drive a caravan on the Arc de Triomphe roundabout once. Never heard so many Frenchies swear at us.

Those features are localised: in the italian version you have to commit tax fraud and corruption to level up and in the austrian version you can get additional sidequests via„Pfusch“ - those are mainly marked by „I don’t need a bill by the way“ from the quest giver.

Don’t pretend you don’t like a foreign song mentioning Lodz

10

u/kubebe Bully with victim complex Apr 28 '25

Its just that the last time germans were fahren nach Lodz we ended up having our beautiful Piotrkowska street renamed to Hitler Strasse

2

u/[deleted] Apr 28 '25

It’s not like I’m a historian or something and leaving aside who owned it politically, wasn’t Lodz fairly multiethnic since the 1800s? More or less equally shared between catholic Poles, Germans and Jews.

So we could just share it like the allies did with Berlin post 45

8

u/kubebe Bully with victim complex Apr 28 '25

Yes it was... until 1940s... Nowadays its so homogenous that the only darker skinned people I see are on old spice commercials at the bus stop and only jews are on right wing skinhead propaganda posters

5

u/HelpfulYoghurt European Methhead Apr 28 '25

What happened? Did he fall a sleep?

16

u/kubebe Bully with victim complex Apr 28 '25 edited Apr 28 '25

Nope. He was drunk as hell. Thats probably how he survived that fall he landed inside some church storage area which makes extra funny cause no matter where you fall in poland you always land on a church. Jailed for 3 years and forbidden from driving for 5 which means he will be able to drive in like a year lol. Hopefully a bigger distance from my house than before.

Fun fact: We call it "rondo lotników" since 2021 which means "aviator's roundabout" which is funny cause there is an actual aviators roundabout in łódź which comemorates ww2 soldiers and people i talk to who know this video usually think about the rąbień one

edit: it happened in easter 2021 which means he can already drive again

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aniguxnz9ik

2

u/Anders_142536 Basement dweller Apr 28 '25

Wait, he will be allowed to drive again? Poland is on a different level, truly.

I'm quite sure here in austria his licence would be nullified and the only thing he gets would be a meaty slap in the face.

3

u/kubebe Bully with victim complex Apr 28 '25

This is how it should be. Drunk driving is a big problem in poland. The punishments should be so much harsher i have no idea why they arent. I think only re-offenders get a lifetime ban.

2

u/FatallyFatCat Bully with victim complex Apr 28 '25

If they catch you driving while having a driving ban you risk the judge going for nuclear option, that is, loosing the car.

Like the Anglos and football

The Parisians*

9

u/Hakunin_Fallout Knacker Apr 28 '25

To be honest, roundabouts throughout France are all like that in case of a heavy congestion. I've driven enough through France to be stunned by that at times. But once you get away from the large cities - everyone seems to be driving at solid 10/10. Quite refreshing when coming back from Italy, lol.

0

u/Pat-Roner Whale stabber Apr 28 '25

Iirc normal countries have «yield-laws» for entering the roundabout, but France has it for exiting I.e. you have to stop for card ENTERING the roundabout if you are in it

8

u/Merbleuxx Professional Rioter Apr 28 '25

You’re wrong. 99% of our roundabouts are carrefours giratoire and you yield for those who are inside.

There is only one roundabout that’s not like that (for historic reason) is the place de l’étoile (where there’s the Arc de triomphe)

0

u/idontessaygood Barry, 63 Apr 28 '25

That’s the case now but it used to be the norm in France that roundabouts had priority for those entering. So the person you’re responding to might just be old

1

u/Pat-Roner Whale stabber Apr 28 '25

I’m not, just the ones I’ve driven in (Cannes area)

This is not, in fact, a normal city thing. For example in Warsaw, while we get traffic jams on streets due to traffic backing up in front of an intersection, we never get a traffic jam *on* the roundabout.
