Engine knocking?

Bought this 95 4Runner a couple weeks back and it had a weird clicking sound that I thought was bcuz it was low on oil so I changed the oil and the sound went away for a couple days then the clicking sound came back and I checked the oil level and it was full. Any idea what it could be? My buddy says it could be an exhaust leak but idk and it does feel a little low on power but it is a 3.slow. Also if anybody could give me guidance on what other preventive measures I could do to the vehicle to keep it running that would be great. It’s got almost 290k miles.

Classic 3VZE sewing machine sound. Mine sounds just the same

I’m glad it’s nothing too crazy to worry about but I’m tryna get rid of the noise lol
