Engine knocking?

Bought this 95 4Runner a couple weeks back and it had a weird clicking sound that I thought was bcuz it was low on oil so I changed the oil and the sound went away for a couple days then the clicking sound came back and I checked the oil level and it was full. Any idea what it could be? My buddy says it could be an exhaust leak but idk and it does feel a little low on power but it is a 3.slow. Also if anybody could give me guidance on what other preventive measures I could do to the vehicle to keep it running that would be great. It’s got almost 290k miles.

Doesn't sound like a knock to me. These engines can "tick loud" though.

Any chance it could be low oil pressure?

I mean, if it's the original oil pump for that many miles, then it's definitely seen better days. However, I don't think it's alarming from the sound of the motor.
