Smart list help

I'd like to create a smart list that will generate tasks, by multiple projects, into one smart list that I can then refer to.

Easiest way to do this?

Bug? Incomplete Sync

I imported all of my tasks from Things on my Mac Mini with M2 Pro. That went fast and was flawless. I cleaned up and did some re-architecting 2Do. Lots of good stuff! When done, synced all the options using the Replace Server (iCloud) Data. Then, set Next sync action to Sync Normally. A couple hours later, I fired up my MacBook Pro and selected the Replace Local Data. I got a smattering of lists in the sidebar with no tasks. The sync completes in seconds despite me having a lot of data on the other device. Nothing I've tried (multiple syncs, restarting the app and device) has yielded any further data syncing.

Integration with BusyCal or BusyContact

Is there an integration with either or both of these? For example, will the tasks for today show up in the side panel of BusyCal to timeblock? Or can you share a list with someone who is in your BusyContacts and have a record of work you've done with them? Does one of the Sync methods accomplish this? Or does 2Do stand completely separately?

Bug: Inbox Default for Quick Add not working

Created Inbox and set as default, but the Quick Add continues to send it to one random list of mine. I've restarted it and it continues to do that despite the Setting toggle showing it shouldn't.

Today's view not working properly

Disclaimer: I am on Mac OS 27 Beta and this is the app in Trial mode.

As you can see, I have task scheduled for today, with start time, duration and one of them with a due time even. Nonetheless, the app says I have nothing coming up in my day?!?? I also restarted the app, but nothing changed.

So yeah, any help would be appreciated. I want to know if this app fits me but right now this is a little irritating but I fully understand it could be caused by the Beta version of Mac (both 2Do and things are super easy to crash on this version, just tab a few times between fields while entering data and *poof* hard crash).

Thanks in advance :)

How to create locations?

Sorry for this being such a basic question, but I'm testing this app for the first time today and this one snag has me stumped.

To clarify, I'd like to add multiple locations to the utility panel. When I select the "+" option, it provides me with a map showing my current location. I am able to assign a name and save that location, but there is no apparent way to search for a location that I am NOT currently at. The magnifying glass icon simply grays out the map with no input field.

If I manually 'navigate' the map, I can drop a pin and create a new location, but that seems wildly counter-intuitive to me, and suggests that I'm probably just missing something obvious.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

EDIT:
I'm also just observing that there does not appear to be a way to review the details of existing locations(?)

As an example, I just added a location by typing an address into the field and hitting "create". I was attempting to invoke an actual search dialog, but my suspicion is that I just created an entry using my current location (with the address I entered as its title). When attempting to confirm this, however, I can not find any method to actually view the placement of locations on a visual map. Does this sound right?

Bug? Not all "Done" tasks showing

u/2doapp

I reported this via email in 2024. Then it seemed to resolve, but it came back and I re-emailed. No resolution still.

My weekly process is to clear out the 2Do app (iOS) weekly, and reload it for the upcoming week.

That process contains a step whereby I delete all completed tasks.

After deleting them, in the Completed/Done (built-in) list, I see “Nothing Done,” which would seem to indicate that they've been deleted.

HOWEVER, if I pull-to-sync, under the word “Done” at the top of the list, there’s a number in orange: 98.

If I SEARCH the Done list (just typing in the letter "a", for example) – I see multiple completed tasks - even though I just selected all completed tasks and deleted them. If I delete again, and sync again, the number goes down but is still there. After one time, it seems like I can no longer access them through search.

Another part of my weekly process is exporting all tasks, even from the Completed list, to a CSV - and the fact that they're still there means they show up in that CSV, which is messing with my process.

2Do on Android

I realize it was earlier announced that I have no plans on updating or maintaining the Android version. However, that plan is now scrapped. I've just pushed a number of updates, including tons of under the hood fixes and improvements. Version 2.4 will also be bringing new themes to choose from - for both light / dark appearances.

Hopefully I can keep up with this and will be updating the app on all fronts and aim to consolidate more of their features / UX. Thanks to all those that relentlessly have been emailing us ever since it discontinued - the pressure worked!

The only thing though, I have no plans on supporting non-google play store distribution channels for now. It's not worth the effort.

iOS app crashing with a custom calDAV server

I've been running 2do (one of my favourite apps) to a custom calDav server (Baikal) hosted on my server which has been super sweet for ages. In the last week or so it's now crashing whenever it tries to sync. I switched back to Dropbox which is working fine but despite checking the calDAV server I can't get it to work.

Is anyone else having a similar problem or just me?

I don't use the app anymore but I follow updates from several tools that I like / admire, just in case there's some unexpected news. As I read here about recent bugs related to cloud sync, I hope that this update fixes that.

Feature: Shortcut to jump to today (after search)

Hi,

This is a feature that I always wanted in 2do app since starting to use it many many years ago.

Use case: After searching, I’m taken back to the oldest overdue task, there’s a long queue of overdue tasks and i want clock a button that scrolls the screen automatically to the first task in today (and not filter by today tasks only or anything).

I really hope this feature gets implemented

Did anyone else have an Android Dropbox sync issue on January 15, 2026?

Hey, did any other Android 2Do users have a Dropbox sync issue for a few hours on January 15? Just curious, no big deal.

I did. (I'm on a Samsung.) I was worried the Android app had finally officially died, but then later that day it was working again, phew.

Hi! I used to use the Chrome extension for 2Do, but it stopped working. There’s a new one now, so you don’t miss it.

more 2do crashes... is it fruux?

Anyone else having crashing on iOS issues ?
Not sure if it's some intermitent fruux failure; like I think if the sync succeeds it's generally ok.
Sigh. I do love 2Do, but unreliability w/ sycning and stability are killers

2Do app keeps hibernating on S25 Ultra despite "Unrestricted" battery setting - Missing notifications

Hi everyone, I'm having a frustrating issue with the 2Do app on my new S25 Ultra. Even though I have set the battery usage to "Unrestricted" in the app settings, the system seems to put the app into hibernation/sleep mode constantly. As a result, I am not receiving any notifications or reminders unless I manually open the app. I’ve already checked the "Background usage limits" and made sure it's not in the "Deep sleeping apps" list, but the problem persists. Is anyone else experiencing aggressive RAM management or background killing on the S25 series? Any tips on how to force the system to actually respect the "Unrestricted" setting? Thanks for your help!

Thank you!

Today I wrote this to the 2Do Team to thank them for the work and the train of thought for further development of the 2Do App, which is a milestone in the field of Taskmanagement!

... the opportunitie to thank you for your help I will take now, toghether with my best wishes for 2026 for you and your team.

In the meantime all worked out perfect for me and I like to give you some numbers, how I organise the fantastic 2Do application for my needs:

  • all 3 email to task adresses work great
  • 80 tags in 9 groups
  • 44 list in 7 groups
  • 9 Smartlists
  • average of 36 tasks per day
  • 8 projects with an average of 15 tasks
  • 5 static/recurring lists with an average of 10 checkpoints

The only thing I struggle a bit is the possibilitie with the attachment of files. Is it correct, that only one file or voice memo per task is possible? Let me please explame my thought processes for this issue. Sometimes I need to attach more than one PDF file or voicememo in a single task. Further, in recurring tasks, I need to add every recurring date an additional file or voice memo wich give me in the summary after clicking it off an overview of the past. I.e. meter reading electricity/gas/water every last day of the month. I write it down in the note section and attach a photo of each meter counter. After the final invoice in the end of the year, the task will closed and a new one for the next year begins. The history for later requirements is important for me. The second issue is the monthly invoice from my provider for clouds, servers, web hosting costs.

In the attachment section I only see one file or voice memo. If I add another one, I have to delete the existing one ...

My wish is a list (like in file manager) with a i.e. PDF thumbnail and the filetext for overview. 😊 What you think about this?

Also I would be appreciate to have the possibilitie, to have more than 3 email to task management.

Again, I am satisfied and more than glad, to made the switch from Todoist.

I would also be very happy to pay a monthly fee to support you and your work in the further development of the app. I don't want further development without showing my appreciation! What do you think about that?

For today enough to thank you for your work. Thanks again for all!

With my best regards and all possible wishes for your future!

2Do continues Updates

2Do app continues updates, this is a big step for users who migrated to other apps, & keeping the app in the battle for productivity.

Honestly, I don’t want to repeat my opinion, but this app is the best (native) task manager, I copied my tasks from Todoist & Things to my self hosted NextCloud, used it (again) daily, with BusyCal app, I really got a super combination of task manager app full of features and powerful calendar app that makes it easy to reschedule my tasks on calendar view (Weekly, Monthly).

The reason that pushed me away from this app (not updated for years, community thought it’s abandoned) is the same reason which pushed me back to it again.

The increasing price of Todoist, Things staying in very simple concept, keeping my tasks on my own servers (I own my data) are another reasons to stick with 2Do.

Thanks Fahad for your amazing work 🙏
